Time to start something fresh and new. I am going to (attempt to) "host"/DM a new role-playing game here on the RPG forum, similar to the failed fantasy campaign.
The setting will be modern day period, in a fictitious Chicago-like city. It is in the mafia/action genre, so brush up on your Godfather, your Scarface, your Sopranos and your Grand Theft Auto 3.
I will be the moderator/storyteller, and play all the non-player characters. If you don't understand, just watch a bit first. As far as rules go, we need very little, so that people can come in and post and not have to spend an hour doing so.
People have jobs, lives etc. I understand. To help facilitate things, we will post one major "scene" per week. This means your character will have one solid action post per week, though you can feel free to post plenty of in-character conversation posts. Once we get started, there will be a second thread for questions, etc. The main story thread will be for in-character posts only.
If you miss posting during one week, we will try our best to move on and give you an easy way back in. I will take on the brunt of the plot planning and so forth.
Bear in mind: We are keeping it simple. Don't role play your character as invincible. No one will want to play with you. On occasion, I may step in to let you know if you have been wounded, etc. For the most part, our other RPG players did an excellent job of being strong in some areas and allowing for weakness. Just be fair.
Now. Enough filling up thread space. If you want to be included in our first little story, just add your CHUD nickname to this list. Don't post your character ideas yet. Got it? Not too hard.
