Houston Chewers/Free Movie Passes

Thread Starter
Hello, everyone in Houston. I've resisted posting anything like this until now, but I keep noticing that there are quite a few Houston-area chewers and I can't hold back any longer.

My job would actually allow me to invite you guys to lots of advance screenings. The next opportunity will be OLD SCHOOL. I have a number of screenings over the next couple of weeks. If anyone is off during the day I could also use some help filling up press/media screenings occasionally.

Please feel free to ask any questions below or shoot me an e-mail at mmoore@a-g-a.com to let me know that you're interested.

Also, for the record, I usually avoid discussing any of the films that I'm working on so I don't feel like I'm schilling. I only speak up about one of our films when I really love it. And isn't that what it's all about really?

EliCa$h, nice to know you're a hometown guy.

I think you may have been in my office a time or two, Nordling.

I'm just sad that I'm not getting any responses. I only want to help people.

Actually, you've never been in my office. I had a hunch that you were someone else...but I've just confirmed that I was wrong.

I'm a hometown boy in that we're both from Baytown or both from the Houston area?

I worked in Houston for 2 years (4 days a week, then home to NC for the weekends). If I was still there, I would be all over some free tickets.
I live off the Westheimer area and work on the northside. I don't think I've been in your offices but I've lived here all my life.
Only reason I hadn't responded yet was that I missed the thread. Emailing you now wink

Cool. I know there are others. Zalasta? Laugharn? I've seen others, but I can't remember the names.

Jankis, if you were still here I'd be happy to hook you up. Unfortunately, my already limited powers don't work outside the Houston area.

Eli gets two thumbs up, even though I have never figured out where the name comes from....

THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS, man! Good to meet you this morning.

I appreciate the official Coyote thumbs up.

Hey! I'm right here. We got a little busy at the office and my Chewer mailing list never really took off as I only got two responses.

I still intend to distribute passes to you and Nordling...as well as anyone else that's interested. If I slack off just shoot me an e-mail.

The next opportunity is A MAN APART tomorrow night at Edwards Marq*E at I-10 and Silber. E-mail me or call the office (713/461-8325) if you want to go.

Hey Eli, if you ever come to Austin for anything drop me a line.

I will have to make it down to Houston sometime. We need to have CHUDTexas and bring SJR home.

I would definitely be up for that. Actually, I handle Austin too. If you'll e-mail me your address, I'll add you to my mailing list.

Here's the address: mmoore@a-g-a.com

I get sent to Austin quite a bit. I was just there for a WILLARD event at the Alamo Drafthouse last month.

I'll be in Houston Saturday and Sunday for the 2nd annual Bore-a-rama.

Laugharn...scoop me on the comic shops...movie/dvd joints, too.

Any of you guys want to get together for lunch, dinner, drinks, movie, hanging around a mall and intimidating the elderly...let me know.

Oooh! Memememememe!
I work Sat & Sun, though, so it'd have to be dinner somewhere about 7ish on Sat?
Dan & I live in the Galleria area, you going to be in that general area? There's a Bedrock Comics just down the street from both of us that's pretty damn tasty.
Galleria/Saturday eve sounds cool.

I have no idea where I'll be...but I'll be mobile so I can make it anywhere I need to.

Come up with a good place to grub, Coyote!
Dan (or any other Houston Chewers)...any idea for where to eat in the Galleria area at 7pm on a Sat that DOESN'T include a 45min wait to be seated?
Chuy's on Richmond in front of Bizarre Bazzar only had a 20 min wait last time we were there....
'ello?
Oh, forgot all about dis. Not a big wait, eh? Well, there's the House of Pies...

...I honestly don't know of any good eateries without atrocious waits. So, as you've lived in this area longer, I'll leave it in your hands. Also check your PMs, I'll make with the contact info and what not.
Cool...Looking forward to this.

Check your pm's, fellas.
We should probably do Chuy's (because they don't have them in Dallas, and we can always hit Bizarre Bazzar afterwards for fun & prizes), and see if some of us can show up at like 6:30ish, and hold the table for the rest of us (I get off work at 6:30, so if you want, plan to meet at 6:30, and go from there, I'll just be late...it's probably easier to get a table at 6:30 than 7)
Who are we missing from the Houston list besides Eli? I swear there's one or two others I haven't met yet, but I can't remember....
Coyote...your mailbox is full...
Sounds good to me.

I can get there "whenever"...no problem.
Fixed. *blush*
Ok, it's official. 6:30 at Chuy's on Richmond.
I'll be there close to 7. Let's have CHUD, party of 6 (so far, unless Dan or Katanga is bringing someone as well).
Dan, is you come down I-10 from Katy, pass Highway 6, pass the the tollway (Highway 8), and take Voss exit. Turn right (South). Go a ways.
Westheimer is a major cross street...at this point, Voss becomes Hillcroft. Stay on Hillcroft to Richmond (should be 2 lights down) and turn left.
Chuy's is on the left about a block or two. If you hit Greenbriar, you've gone too far. It's hard to miss...there's a big Elvis fish in the parking lot (although sunk back a bit, it's not on the road edge).
Check your PMs, gentlemen, I'll leave my work number, where I'll be til 6:30

www.zip2.com lists Chuy's as Chuy's- West Houston in their directory, if you want a map.
PS: Eli can't make it, due to husband duty with a pregnant wife.
