Lets take this statewide. on Aug 2nd in Austin is a showing of Master of the Flying Guillotine a true, old school, balls on the block 70's kung-fu flick. I had the good fortune of catching this in L.A. and it is the business. So who in this great state is down for making a pilgramage to Austin in the name of CHUD and good kung-fu ass-whoopery? The Dallas Guild is more than welcome to occupy two spots in the Katanga mobile (in exchange for 2 pints of blood, natch). Eyeball Kid, Coyote, Wiskerando...what say you?

I have a friend in Austin who may have to join us for this.

I'm in.

Cool, man. I'll e-mail you all the scuttlebutt. Hope you can make it.

Texas needs its own forum. I feel unholy posting TX shite in the midwest.

What about General Logan? At least tell us you're washing your hair or something!

Definitely maybe. I am in for a rough month of transition first, can't really make promises beyond that. I would love to go, of course, and if it was just a weekend, I could probbaly squeeze it in.

Put me down as a maybe...as in I might be able to find someone to work for me.
(I'm taking alot of time off these days, so I don't know if I can swing it, but I'll try.)

From Dallas: Me, my brother, possibly a squirrelly fucker that does all my henchman duties, Tony Bagodonuts, hopefully *General Logan...

Rumor has it the Eyeball Kid from Austin will grace with his ocular childishness...

and then you...more the merrier as far as I'm concerned. Is the friday midnight show good for all...saturday would work for us as well...

Ideally, it would be cool to have a grand CHUD showing replete with hookers and brass knuckles to show up the AICN crowd.
I'd prefer the Friday show, but either will do...

I'm still in the "maybe" camp. I'm having surgery on Monday and I'll be off of work for a week, and I just don't know if I'm going to be feeling up for a late-night outing only 2 weeks after going under the knife.

Also, there's the little problem of convincing my wife that meeting up with a bunch of people that we've never met from a messageboard to see a martial arts film is a good idea. :

As far as the wife goes...tell her you're going out to buy some porn. S'whut I do. I don't know the cats...but the Dallas guys (Tony and General Logan) are good chaps...

[QB]Taking out your tonsils and adnoids?[QB]
Taking out tonsils, having UVPP (removal of uvula, sculpting of palate), correcting deviated septum, having RF applied to the back of my tongue to shrink it a bit. Hello liquid diet and painkillers! On the bright side, I'll probably lose 10 pounds.

Goodness! Seriously...all the best, man. Sounds like recovery is going to be right up there with becoming a Cenobite.

Two weeks to go. Are the maybe's still maybe's?

FYI: I'm taking the Amtrak Deathrail...which is comprable price-wise to driving...and definitely saves on the sanity...in my case anyway.

"Damn lack of editing...I don't know the OTHER cats...as in from Houston and whatnot."

Mew.

Still a maybe (but not looking good). Even slimmer...the possiblity of a Hamster sighting.

Er, Hastur sighting.

Just a heads up, but at the Inwood Theaters in Dallas, they will be showing Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn Friday, Saturday, and maybe Sunday (the site isn't loading right at the moment so I am not sure on Sunday) at Midnight. Anyone going?

On the 26&27th...its a distinct possibility.

Due to the implenmentation of a new nifty phone sytem that ties the phones in with the computers and ties the weekend crew to headsets for 14 hours straight (grumble), I can't do this. Because if the phones screw up on the three test subjects (and they will), that leaves 3 of us to take the remainder.
2 if I go on vacation frown
I'm now a maybe leaning towards no - recovery is proving to be a tougher fight than I thought. I'm chugging Lortab (liquid Vicodin) every four hours still, and it's been a week since the surgery.

For those coming in from out of town - give yourself enough time to park. The theater is parctically on the UT campus. However, there's a parking garage right across from the theater that will validate you for 3 hours or so of parking.

The theater is actually in the Dobie Mall - which is a small, two story mall at the base of a private dorm tower.

There's a food court by the theater if you're in need of a quick fix, and the Dobie has some of the best popcorn in town (REAL butter!!).

Hey Guys chefwindu is out for this upcoming weekend. Due to my brakes going to shit and the 4 bill's it is going to cost me!

Sorry dudes!
So how was your weekend, Cap'n?

Sorry I missed ya...

If you go again by Amtrak, I may join you. Driving in the summer sucks.

Two of the guys going with backed out...so we said Fuck It and drove. In Hillsboro, two of my tires blew....YAY!!!...Had to go deep into the "city" to get new ones...

Friday, we went down to 6th and ogled women...all strangely wearing those hip-hugger pants...the new uniform for womens on the prowl I guess. Ate some steak and drank. Hit the bar at the Driscoll for some Beer and coffee...then hit the Dobie...which ROCKED! The mall was closed except for the fuckin video game arcade right next door. Master of the Flying Guillotine was awesome...If you ever want to see just lots of beheadings...that the flick to watch. Mindless violence and above average Kung-fu.

Saturday I took the car to get an alignment in Austin and we took the bus to parts of Austin best left unseen.

Made it home late Saturday night...

All worth it for the Kung-Foolery, fo sho!

Thought this might be of interest...

Moving to Beaumont, TX next month. Gonna wait till after the coffee meeting in Atlanta that Blofeld's gonna be at (Oct. 12), then packing the car for my journey.

Very good friend is going to let me stay in her spare bedroom and has a $60 weekend job while I look for film work in the TX area. Also, <img src="http://pics2.hotornot.com/pics/HS/HZ/NY/NS/KRHMNENBQBEU.jpg" alt="" />
she will only be 4 hours away in New Orleans.

I am DYIN to get this show goin...
I want one....

You do realize you're very close to Hastur, Bobbin, Timmy, and myself here in Houston, right?
Yup. That's why we need to start plannin a CHUD-MIDWEST...
CHUD Tejas is evidently being held in a suburb of Dallas in a new, huge house sometime early next year by a certain Captain Katanga-roo.

Hey...isn't it true you can't dance in Beaumont? Oh and Chris Penn is skinny there.
I'm sure as shit gonna dance. And if it's against city ordinance, maybe it'll be like "Footloose!" We'll all have to dance in barns and in private so our parents won't find out and maybe I'll turn into Kevin Bacon and we'll be driving and I'll jump into the car next to me oblivious to the 18-wheeler comin and...

...Sorry, I got carried away...
Ok guys, I will input something us Texas Chewers might want to jump on really soon: October 5th, Bruce Campbell will be bringing Army of Darkness down to the Alamo Drafthouse. Tickets are on sale NOW, so buy really really soon!

Also, after that Bruce will be at Book Peoples on North Lamar (I think...) signing Confessions of a B-Movie Actor. These two events should be uber cool!
