The LOGAN REPORT

Thursday:
Coyote, Dark Hedgehog, Hastur, Katanga, Bagodonuts, Me. Several CHUD lurkers/Coyote's friends from the convention. "Celebration", an old school family style restaurant, where they use words like "fixin's". A progenitor of Cracker Barrel/Black Eyed Pea.

Arrivals= I was there incredibly early, and waited in the parking lot for a familiar face to show before skulking into the place. Katanga was next, followed by Tony (both locals as well). Coyote and crew broke through the gates a few minutes later.

Food = good, a little TOO bountiful. Katanga scored elite points by ordering wine. I had a Dr. Pepper.

Conversation = good, diverse, fun. I had met a few of the guys there before, and Katanga, Tony and I are alwways doing stuff. But it there were several new faces too. We learned about Coyote's mysterious past, and I think I may have rambled a few times myself.

Saturday
Coyote, Dark Hedgehog, Kittyinjammies, Ms. D'Kay (sp?), Momotaro, Me. Joe's Crab Shack. Chain of seafood foodholes.

Arrivals= DEAD first again. Held a table for like 20 minutes by my lonesome. Coyote and the gang strolled in. (Looking for the group of them, it would be IMPOSSIBLE to miss.) Kitty escaped for a few minutes a bit later.

Food = decent, most of us had been to one before. I was suffering from a cold both nights, and failed to ingest a full meal either time. D'Kay was allergic to seafood, that was overcome by some sort of chicken salad compromise.

Conversation = fun, and again, diverse. It was great to meet the first time people at the table, and it was cool to talk more with Coyote and Dark Hedgehog. Kitty is always fun to hang with, but I have got to shut my damn mouth: again I talked too much.

Momo took a pic of kitty and myself, which I begrudingly allowed. He may post it shortly.

The kitty report:

What Logan said.

P.S. D'Kay is beautiful in person, hubba hubba in black vinyl, and Momotaro is just darling.

D'Kay doesn't photograph well in casual shots.
And Kitty, I'll post the photos of Hedgie later that night at the dance. I don't have pics of what D'Kay wore there, since I didn't bring my camera to the dance itself, but apparently it was a race to see who got their pic taken more, so I'm sure someone will post her on the web.
(Momotaro got a pic of D'kay in the outfit she wore around for day-ware that Kitty's talking about, btw. And me and Hedgie in the same shot, so I might have broken his camera.)

Was fun to meet people again, and learn abit more. Dave and Tony were especially easier to hear at this one, since I sat close to them this time wink
So, I'm talking about how there's this friend of mine, Sandy, from college who's one of the people working the con, and how last year she asked me if I knew Preach...who happened to be one of her best friends and my old roommate from one of the best "How Many Students Can Live In an Apt at Once" experiences. Small world. THEN I find out that Dean, who had been dating Meri (the director of the con, who I work directly for, making sure she has personal gophers on her at all times during the con), is actually Preach's brother. SMALLER world.
Then Tony says, "Preach? This guy's name isn't Chris, is it?"
Turns out Tony's good friend's with Preach's best friend from days of yore.
I'm stuck on a Disneyland Ride, and I can't get off.

I got two pics of Coyote, Dark Hedgehog and D'Kay, only because The Hedge was in mid-jump when I took the first one. The one I took of Kitty and Dave didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, because Kitty's eyes where mostly shut when I snapped the pic. I'll have to talk to either Kid Ego and have him host the pics or have somebody else do it since I don't have hosting abilities. Please bear with me.

As for my thoughts? Dave (General Logan) was an awesome guy. I don't have children, but if I did, I'd want them to be under his direction. He talks a mile-a-minute, and it a place like Joe's Crab Shack it's hard to keep up, but what I did hear from him was golden.
Coyote was an A-Kon go-er from the gitgo, and by that I mean number 1. I unfortunatly didn't get to talk much that night because I was so overwhelmed by everybody. Still, Coyote is a great guy, and has dated some awesome women.
Dark Hedgehog is Houston's "best damn Magenta", and that is directly from the source. I didn't get to converse much with Michelle since she didn't speak much herself. But maybe I'll catch her next year if she comes back. I'd love to meet everybody again.
Mrs. D'Kay. Once word, "Wow". This women seemed fearless. I learned a few things from her, that she is allergic to shellfish and is not to fond of tomatoes in her pasta. She gave me pointers on how to correctly dye my chin for next year. Chances are I will forget by then, but maybe I can email her for her advise, as it was golden, just like her.
And lastly, KittyinJammies. She arrived about ten minutes after we did, but she was no less the participent. It made me more than a little jealous of Dave, as he sat between Kitty and D'Kay, and Kitty seemed to be flirting with him a tad. but if you spend any time on the boards, you realise that's just her personality. She also smokes menthol cigarettes, and if I could stand them, I would have bummed one from her, but as it is, I think they taste like ass. To each his own, I guess.

Again, as soon as I get those pics hosted, I'll post 'em. A friend of mine got a pic of D'Kay later that night in her see-through top. Don't get excited guys, you don't see the 'goods', but she was still something to behold. I'll see if I can get that one to. Note to Michelle, if you plan on pulling off Magenta next year, please let me know, I'll come as Little Nell....

Sorry about the closed eye thing, I'm not very photogenic, not to mention that I pretty much looked like ass that day.

Yes, I was late, and yes the party ended 'cause I had to go home.

It was great meeting you Momo. Such a big-huggable-teddy-bear type! What a darling!

Thanks for the kinds words! That line about the children is much appreciated, though other readers might want to know that you mean as a professional educator, so as not to start rumors, heh. I do talk too damn much, though it just felt like everyone else was being quiet. I do appreciate the compliment. Glad you had a good time!

This is my reward for getting there 20 min early and holding a table for six.

No, you don't. If you were inane and rambling, that would be talking too much. You were simply the instigator of conversation. wink
post #63 of 76
Coyote makes a good point, Dave. Nobody else was talking so I'm glad someone was instigating chat. I for one was more than a little nervous as I've never really talked to anybody on the boards other than Kitty a few times on chat.

And Mickey, come one. You don't think I have the gams to pull a decent Columbia off? Yeah, ok, you probably got me there. But I'm assured to get lots of photo ops! wink A-Kon loves the freaks!

Sailor Ogre comes to mind....

I'm looking for that pic of Hedgie as Magenta, to post.
Sweet! Can't wait to see it. I'll try and post those pics by tomorrow night. Hopefully nobody wants to flog me for taking to long.
Sorry I missed this. Sounds like it was tons of fun and yes Dave is quite the chatty Kathy, but thats why hes Dave.

I would have been there if I wasnt such a broke loser.

Organize one of these in Tulsa and I shall show my ugly ass up.

Always remember, I hate you all.

Ok, apparently, I have to re-scan the pic, then I'll need to find a place to host the data, as my normal place seems non-responsive of late.

Hey all,

Just curious, how many Houston chewers are there? Are there ever any H-Town Chewer
get-togethers?

Here's the pics:

Ms. D'Kay, Coyote and his lady, Dark Hedgehog.
<img src="http://www.networkops.cc/images/dkaycoyote.jpg" alt="" />

And KittyinJammies and General Logan
<img src="http://www.networkops.cc/images/logankitty.jpg" alt="" />

You will notice that I haven't included a picture of myself. This is a very good reason...
God, no more pictures of me, please. I look AWFUL. frown

I think Dave stole Jay's shirts!
Dude, you got it backwards.

Though if you said beard, I might have to agree, as he has no doubt been growing that thing since three years before he was born.

As for this pic, I am glad to finally see it, but it needs to be sized the fuck down. No one should look direclty into my face at such range.

I'll fuck you up, kid.

That shirt goes to 11!

Might need to find a happier looking pic, but you guys don't look that bad.

Does this make my cheeks look fat?
There's some weird effect going on with a light or something on the side of my head near Dark Hedgie. I swear my head does not suddenly blossom out below my eyes like a live action Quagmyer from Family Guy.

God, I look tired.
