Chicago-ish Chewers

Thread Starter
I'm going to the PJ show with a few pals on 6/18, and need a decent hotel to stay in (we're all gainfully employed, so price is not a major issue, though we aren't going to be looking for a 4-star hotel or anything).

Preferably convenient to the United Center and within a safe walk of good night spots. Any suggestions?

You don't want to walk to the United Center. You can get a bus or cab. Not the best neighborhood around. Not that it's dangerous but walking is ill advised. There is a Madison Street bus that takes you to the United Center-not sure the number but there are plenty of signs.

I used to live on the Near North Side, there was a Best Western around there on Ohio that should be reasonable. Or a HoJo's on N. Lasalle that I used to walk by everyday-don't have exact addresses but you can find that easy.

Both places are close to decent bars and a short cabride/walk to some bars on Division. Also you can get on the red line(subway) and head north. Get off at Addison and you can see beautiful Wrigley field. You'll also be a stone's throw away from a bunch of bars. Or just take a cab down Clark Street to get there.
