Thinking of going this year

Would like to hear from people who have gone before and what they thought of it.

Thanks.

Also, anyone else planning on going this year?

Like every year, I really want to go this year. It just always seems like something comes up last minute - like trying to see the 'Stros in L.A.

I don't know if its cross-country worthy, man. Some fun films are on display.

Now the QT festivals are a diiferent animal altogether.

No QT fest for a few years, this'll have to do.

You gonna be there this year? Could have a little CHUD get together before or after and during event? Be fun....

Yeah, man...I'd be down with that.

It's Harry Knowles's annual 24-hour movie marathon he does in Austin. Usually screens a couple of classics, some cult films, a rare, hard-to-find film or two, and often a world premiere of something. And since he's tight with some big names, there's usually some great guest visits.

Christ, I don't know how people can sit down for 24 hours straight like that. I nearly killed myself trying to watch the 24 marathon on Labor Day.......

More power to you folks.....

At my school, I'm gonna organize a Wes Anderson-fest. Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, and The Royal Tenenbaums, back-to-back, projected on the big screen, with cool interludes in between movies in the theatre lobby complete with soundtrack music, themed decorations and themed snacks (including dalmation-mouse shaped cookies, fuck yeah!).

As Halloween nears we'll have a horror movie fest. Maybe later a Tarantino-a-thon. It oughta be cooooool.

Sweet. Can you get me on the list?
Hehe, it'd be free, I'm sure.

It'd also be at my school, with students attending. In other words, I'm not putting ads in the paper, etc.

For anyone in the know is there an age restriction at BNAT?

Cause I'm 16 and I want to know if I can get in before I write the essay thing.

If they're having it at the Alamo Drafthouse again, then you probably need to be 21 (they serve alcohol), or maybe 18. I'd dash off a quick e-mail to Harry or Moriarty for the scoop.
Whoops. See the "Info" section of www.alamodrafthouse.com.

Quote:
Admission:
General Admission to the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is $6, $4.50 student/senior (60+)/AFS, Monday admission is only $1 , and midnight shows, excluding special events, are $5. Admission for Spike and Mike is $8. Monday admission special does not apply during Spike and Mike. All patrons must be 18 years or older or be accompanied by a parent. Children under 6 are not admitted at any time. Some special event screenings are higher priced, please check the individual show listings for accuarte pricing.
Unless they make an exception for BNAT, it looks like you're out of luck.

I can get my dad to go if it all works out.

So I'm still up for it.

Thanks for the info.
