Milwaukee's Summerfest headliners falling into place

This would be a nice trip up here for some of you Chicagoans; great time!

The Marcus Amphitheatre requires 'real' tickets; all other stages are come with the $12 admission. There are ~10 stages, with acts playing from about 11 am to midnight every day. Some are crappy local bands, some are crappy national bands, some are good local bands, some are good national bands. The bigger names play later in the evening.

June 27:
Ben Folds
Heart

June 28:
Buddy Guy
Ray Charles
Phil Lesh w/Allman Bros. and Lucinda Williams (Marcus Amphitheatre)

June 29:
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones
Buckwheat Zydeco
Brooks and Dunn's Neon Circus (Marcus Amphitheatre)

July 1:
Indigo Girls

July 2:
Alicia Keys (Marcus Amphitheatre)
Jewel

July 3:
INXS
big fucking fireworks

July 5:
John Mellencamp (Marcus Amphitheatre)
Ted Nugent

July 6:
Lifehouse
Midnight Oil

July 7:
Eagles (Marcus Amphitheatre)
George Thorogood.

Sometimes, the coolest stuff doesn't get announced 'til somewhat late in the game, too.

It's always a mixed-bag, from year-to-year, but last year, I caught the Cult, Steve Earle, Wilco, the Toadies, and a few excellent local bands all just for the price of admission.

Not necessarily always the best, but the biggest musical festival in the country.

BTW, there are also usually limited grass seats that don't require "actual" tickets at the Amphitheatre for the big acts.

The only one that grabbed me at the big stage this year, though, was Lucinda Williams, and I'm not big into Lesh or the Allmans.

Otherwise, Folds, Fleck, and Midnight Oil are probably on my agenda.
