Dario Argento's Suspiria

What do people think of this film? I just recently watched it. I had read how Argento was such a horror master. I had read this was a great film. Blah blah blah. I thought it was a huge stinking pile of crap. The tagline according to IMDB is "The Only Thing More Terrifying Than The Last 12 Minutes Of This Film Are The First 92." Other than the brutal murder of a couple folks I thought the first 92 minutes were dull and not scary at all. I appreciate someone trying to use a little more subtle horror than most American horror movies, but I couldn't even figure out why the main character should be afraid at all until the very end. The last 12 minutes I felt like I was on speed compared to the rest of the movie. This wasn't a climax, it was the whole movie put into the last few minutes. Needless to say, I doubt I'll be renting any more Italian horror classics any time soon.

Suspiria is an amazing movie, especially visually. I guess I can understand how a lot of folks might not like it, but I love it. But then, everyone else seems to love Blair Witch.

I bought the Suspiria DVD 3 pack after I read several scariest movies of all time lists last Halloween. It was number 2 after The Exorcist on a couple. I wasn't really scared, but it was pretty stylish and that DTS track with the Goblin music was very weird. I think Argento is not for everyone and an aquired taste.

You guys realize there's a horror board, right? It's called the Creature Corner Killings, filled with horror fans? Just wanted to make sure...

That said, 'Suspiria' is a masterpiece.
