Nope, this ain't a thread about the collosal hit Cats and Dogs.
Right now, it's my weekend. Just sitting back in on the couch partially naked and browsing through some extra features on a few of the dvd's in my posession.
I haven't seen any mention of this topic since becoming a chud member (last november). And was curious if any of you had any favorite scenes that were exorcised from the theatrical version of any movie but later added on dvd/bootleg/vhs either as a deleted scene, added in via seamless branching /extended cut, or put back in as the definitive directors cut.
If you have any in mind that you like, offer your explanation as to why it's your favorite...and why it should've remained in the theatrical version regardless of pacing or time related issues.
Here are some obvious choices for starters:
The radio show scene in "Untitled". This was a fun little moment in the movie that also added to the relationship between Jason Lee and Billy Crudups characters. With a cameo by Kyle Gass. Hilarious stuff. It makes me wonder though, what did Neil Young say or do when he was in a similar situation.
Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Rented the movie via netflix a week ago and checked out the extended version. I liked the scene where Reese appears in Sarah's dream warning her about their son. Then he leaves the cell she's in after giving her a kiss. She follows only to appear in the playground witnessing the children being nuked. Dark and haunting moment that should've remained in the theatrical version.
A deleted scene on the Vista series of Unbreakable is another favorite. I don't know why it was cut out of the movie or where chronologically it fit...but it's the one where the boy (who grows up to be Samuel L) goes on board the Tilt-A-Whirl. Even as a deleted scene it really had an impact because you know something bad was going to come of it, and something did. Never have I gone "oh no" in a movie; to feel for any character and be afraid for him.
Those are 3 particular scenes that come to mind. I'm sure there are more out there. Dive on in with your own...
