Atlantis: The Lost Empire

Saw it yesterday. It was really, really good. I'm surprised it wasn't a mega-hit. However, I think that this is one of those movies that will be regarded as a kid's classic in ten years. Everything about this movie was literally perfect: great animation, cool ships, hot cartoon babes (Princess Kira was fucking AMAZING), and kick ass character voices (specially John Mahoney, Don Novello and Leonard Nimoy). Another home run from the dudes behind Beauty and the Beast and the Lion King. It was a really kick-ass movie. I'm sorry I didn't go see it in the theatre. The ending was really good, it had me welling up. That's about it. It was Nick's review of this that actually had me go check it out, I just didn't get to it right away. Peace.

Agreed. Absolutely loved it.

You can really see Mike Mignola's design work as well, which is surprising for a Disney film. They didn't smooth off all the sharp edges, if you see what I mean.

This should have been the third Oscar nominee for Animated Feature, not that Dexter's Lab/Barry Ween knock-off Jimmy Neutron.

Beautiful Movie...it's second only to Lion King (in my opinion).

I have to commend Disney on the DVD release also. The transfer and audio was done perfectly. This is one of the discs that I show off my media room with.

This movie rocks my world. Whenever I want to be purely entertained, this gets thrown in the DVD player over almost any other movie. Just damn fun, great designs by Mignola, great voices, action, adventure, no cute sidekicks, and no songs. Sounds good to me.

Really enjoyed this movie.
Great score by the way.
