The Sword and the Sorcerer

Remember this one? The Conan rip-off that made it to the screens about a month before Conan the Barbarian. That silly three-bladed magic sword. Lee Horsely, who's actually not that bad, before he grew a mustache and became another Tom Selleck clone. Richard Moll buried in ugly demon makeup and with his heart ripping out glowing fingertips. Richard Lynch and his burn scars playing an evil usurper king. That hot-headed brother from the old TV show The Big Valley badly overacting in a small role as another king. The run through the castle that this year's The Scorpion King shamelessly lifted. The topless wenches in the harem scene. A snake seemingly in every other scene. I loved this movie as a kid.

"I have no quarrel with you."

"The girl is mine!"

"Now we have a quarrel."

This movie is what comes to mind when people talk about cheesy Fantasy movies of the 80s. I saw this flick about 5 times in the theaters. It was the bloodiest movie I had ever seen, and I was fascinated by it. I rented it a while back when it his DVD, and was still fascinated. I miss the fact that we never got to see Talon's further adventures.

Matt Houston kicking ass, whats not to love?

Richard Lynch is definately one of the most reliable of baddies ever.
