I saw it today for the first time. What a charming flick. I loved it. It was like a lighthearted "The Majestic". A great movie about the movies. What do you guys think?

It's good fun, a sweet little movie.

At the risk of sounding like a pedantic fart, Matinee - and other great works by Joe Dante - are already the subject of love and attention in the Classic Movies forum.

But, yes, it's a wonderful film and anyone who loves cinema should get a warm tingly feeling in their bathing suit area when they watch it.

This movie makes me cry. Not at any certain point, throughout the whole movie. That's not saying it's not funny, cause it is. I've seen this movie like a 1000 times and it's still not enough.

I could write a goddamn thesis on the movie, but no one wants to read that.

Let it be said, Joe Dante is a god, he just can't make a bad movie.

I would! I've also seen this movie about a thousand times. I love it. It's a homage to Corman, Castle, and movies. A great "triumph of the geeks" movie. I love it. One of my favorite movies ever.
