Alright, I'm back

I got some hell for being a little out of the MB loop for a while, and the last thing I want to do is contribute to the bad juju.

Things are moving up from this moment, at least as far as I'm concerned.

If you have a gripe, a bitch, or a problem with me or the site/boards, please email it or PM. I'm tired of seeing venom over at Devin's MB but nobody says it to me.

Let's have fun. You'll notice some good changes around these parts over the next few weeks.

I think the clouds are moving away...the sun is coming out. This is a new dawn for the CHUD message boards.

Or i'm crazy.

Good to hear, I'm really interested in this new MB idea. It might be nice to start fresh.

You're not. I'm just gonna swipe whatever debris gets in the way off into the ether and barrel forward. I've been awfully nice and accommodating until now. Not any more. Reading how some folks don't respect the site and boards, I have no worries about unregistering tons.

As long as the boards thrive, all is well.

UGB, I'm importing all the old posts into the new shell (once it's done), so it'll be old AND new, if that's possible.
I cannot wait. But I'm equally looking forward to the changes on the main site.
I'm bolted to the deck here no matter what.
Is this a CHUD facelift, or just the boards?

I may be a douche but I'm excitied to see what's in store.

Yeah, even though I think the main site is perfect the way that it is, I can't wait for the changes.

This is gonna be a fun time.

And Goldberg, I saw you with the beef jerky.

BOTH, in the long haul.

I'm assembling a team of graphic/web designers to help me give the site a punch in the cock. Something really nice and ambitious (and able to resize for 800 resolutions or bigger).

The message boards will be similar but will live WITHIN the site architecture so I have no excuse to bitch that MB people aren't reading the site and they have no excuse to say they forgot to check the site.

Many things, all said.

How exciting. Color me pickled.

I'm the squirrel that says:

Good to hear. I wish we could all see each other dance.

Will the message boards be in the same format or will move to the format where someone posts a topic and then it goes Re:Re:Re all the way home?

OoOoOoh. This should be cool.

Frames?
I'd have no problem with that. The MB will seem a little scrunched, but as we refresh the boards we'll see the news stories get refreshed too as they get put up.

Awesome idea, if that's what you're going for.
This should be interesting. New stuff is exciting! It's like CHUD: The Spring Cleaning.
Good for you and the site, Nick!

the redesign sounds cool, Nick.

But, please, have some consideration for us poor modem users and don't make the mistake so many sites make when updating their design: focusing on huge graphics and flash files that take forever to load. One of the greatest things about CHUD is it's user friendly attitude, even when that user has a crappy pc and connection like me.

Very curious about how it's gonna look.

PS: will this also affect the CHUD appendages like Creature Corner?
I like the boards the way they are, sniff sniff. I hope this incorporation of the boards and the main site doesn't take the shape of AICN's Talkback feature.
Don't even say that shit. You might jinx it.

The boards will be the same, for the most part. A little tweak here and there. They'll operate the same way.

Frames is a LAST DITCH option. Frames suck.

frames= bad GUI

no seriously, frames used correctly can be elegant, but the fact is hardly anyone can or does design an elegant design with frames. and frames only work with certain type of sites.

The boards have REALLY picked up today.
I'm staying no matter what happens... I'm a tad bit scared of change though...I'll hide under the bed for a few days... that should alow me to adjust properly.

I cant wait to see this, Nick. You've put so much work into all this, and it seems like it'll only be getting better.
There has been a lot of turmoil over the last couple days Could we have a thread instead of PM's or E mails to discuss how we feel? I'd start one, but I don't want to step on any toes. Any gripes I have are not directed at any one person, just feelings. Would it be okay if I started one?

Do you have a specific date that you want to debut the new site?

Also, how will all the appendages work with the new CHUD?
