How's that for a birthday present?
Got the call. They offered a position a step up the ladder from the one for which I was interviewing.
I made the choice for passion (for those who may have followed an earlier thread).
Onward and Upward!

I've worked on a couple films, but right now everything is slow so I'm working at a cake shop and a coffee shop. This girl is trying to hook me up with a Bellboy job at the W hotel, which would be nice because I'd make plenty of dough.

It's not enough film stuff yet, but at least I'm busy and meeting people.

Here's the deal on it, B&N is planning on opening a couple of new stores here in the metro area in the next year to year-and-a-half. They will be needing to beef-up management staff, due to growth and attrition. They hire managers from within, and there wasn't an assistant manager position available at the time ... so I was interviewing for a step down from that -- Department Manager.

They CREATED a new assistant manager position for me. Got the approval from corporate to add a 4th asst manager position at the store in which I'll be working in about 8-weeks. Right now, I'm training underneath the regional training manager in Boulder. Quite a commute. Once they transfer me down to my permanent position, it'll be about 3-miles from home.

With good growth potential -- essentially, I'm in a grooming position.
