Serious discussion: New members who don't post about movies and only attack people

I see your point, but believe it or not, "Lydia" doesn't fit your description.

Someone want to PM me from Starchamber the logic behind letting Dev do his thing and yet he freely piles on others doing the same thing he does? Or perhaps tell me where I'm wrong.

I'll honestly take it either way.

And Micah, if Lydia gets banned in for being at a "Devin like level" than you know something is wrong.

Is she goes "below" that then please point it out to me and I will accept that descision as well.

I just want this deal cleared up (along with other chewers) so I can just look at it for what it is and just be on my way posting like I should.

1) Devin certainly doesn't fit the titular description of this thread, and neither does Lydia.

2) In the past, Devin has started up lots of shit and I've had to lock many of his threads as a result.

3) THAT is the level I am referring to Lydia dropping to. Which she clearly did. Trying to equate it with something Dev did however long ago as a defense is a juvenile diversion tactic.

4) If Dev is CURRENTLY "doing his thing" disruptively, then you should point to that thread in the Threads That Annoy You forum. I've never had a single complaint lodged there about him since that forum was started. Nor one IMed, PMed, or emailed.

The only way I can describe it, is like telling teacher on a school yard bully. You just don't because you know any action taken doesn't amount to anything, and you will just get more attention from the antagonist.

With my 2 years here almost I have YET to get an answer on this subject. I mean give me a break the reason I started posting here was partly because of the thrashing (not in an educating way) Dev was giving people for having much the same beliefs I had.

That and my own sick fascination with Nick's facial hair...

That's because you guys are short-sighted. You think deleting an account is the only real punitive action. It's not. As I have done to others, I can remove his or anyone else's ability to post, without banning them, for as long as I see fit, and no I don't need approval, and yes, it applies to everyone (Devin included), except for Nick.

But I'm not going to do so just to satiate his enemies for whatever happened however long ago.

You bring a CURRENT complaint in the proper forum, and if it's severe enough, then it'll happen.

I'm not saying Devin wasn't the only one in there insulting people and such. But he had a hand in it.

Actually, Billy, she does show up mostly to attack him, and has been trollish in doing so.

And I'm not banning anyone from the actions in that thread. It's over. Lydia has MOSTLY trolled Devin, but she does post elsewhere more genially and she should continue to do that rather than get in descend to the level she descended to in that one thread..

It takes two to tango Devin. Report them and then take the more civil approach.

Note: I'm not saying that I am all good an honest. I have stooped and took some shots at you. But I try not to do that any more.

Oh BLOODY HELL, I just got done saying I don't want him banned Micah. I want someone to wake (talk to)him up to a world where you don't act like the frickin school yard bully behind a computer screen.

There's a major difference. This is a flipping pattern of behavior that has persisted for more than 2 years. Do you not think there is some kind of issue? I don't even want his ability to post rescinded for a certain period of time. Just talked to on perhaps maintaining a certain edict since he also reflects the site here believe it or not.

Or maybe I'm just a fool to think things will change and talking out my ass. Right now the world is upside down anyways as far as I am concerned.

Nick has given Devin a pass others don't have. I know it. You know it. It's the truth.

But it hasn't just been for Devin. Jabba went out in a blaze of glory. Now he's allowed back.

Django got a million and one breaks before he was done in.

So have others. Certain longtime posters have earned credit with him with their time here. That's a fact, and should be the subject of another thread if you want to discuss it further.

But I'm talking about the here and now. If people want me to do something to Devin - or anyone else - NOW, then they have to provide CURRENT proof of his/her malfeasance.

If they are attacking people in general, I'd consider them trolls.

If they are attacking Devin, I'd consider it in good taste.

Dev, start another thread about this subject and when you do, I'll lock this one. First person to derail it with personal shit will have a surprise waiting for them shortly thereafter.
