And I'd like you to go gather the threads where I've defended him in the past few weeks. Defending him and participating in his threads are two entirely different things.

His threads are much more entertaining than many of the threads on CHUD lately.

I love this thread. (some)Folks around here always whimper about the petty insults, especially when a stray barb detracts their precious Star Wars discourse, or erudite dialogue on Wachowskian philosophy. I think the fact that this thread was started only 3 days ago and already has 130 posts and is still going strong provides more than ample proof that this is indeed necessary....I personally don't have a problem with anybody here, but if this thread keeps the peace in every other forum on the boards, then have at it people....Knock yourselves out......Eventually, once this anger is purged, I can only hope that things will cool off, and we can all get back to what we're here for in the first place....Intelligent conversation about subjects that we are passionate about....

A thread devoted to ‘friendly banter’ is one thing. Opening up a channel to facilitate the trading of spiteful and pernicious ‘comment’, the ramifications of which will no doubt echo around this place for months to come, is quite another.

I’ve seen this particular brand of ‘board therapy’ crop up occasionally over the last few years, and I can only recall one occasion when it actually ‘worked’ (interestingly enough, the site in question is now closed – the victim of a lawsuit).

Usually the forum/thread gets locked when it becomes patently obvious that a) the ‘decoy’ isn’t working and b) relations between members are deteriorating rapidly.

And it’s not as if there is a need for this thread. After all, CHUD is a fairly genial site, with few real troublemakers.

The problem lies in the fact that these ‘few troublemakers’ have been allowed to run amok by whoever is ‘supposed’ to be administering this site.

I say ‘whoever’ as I have absolutely no idea who is administering these boards at this present time. STAR CHAMBER one minute, Micah the next, then Nick jumps in.

The entire situation has become complete fiasco, and the continued tolerance shown towards those who on any other reputable site would have had their accounts terminated, and with good reason, has just about undermined any faith that I once had in the moderation team.

The solution to this problem is not a ‘safe playpen’ for babies to throw faeces at each other, nor is it a thread devoted to ‘reporting annoying conversations’.

What this site needs is someone who will, once and for all, take firm control of the moderation process.

This thread is great.

I can't believe this thread has gotten to 140+ posts without someone mentioning the skullfucking inanity that is Angelus/Jamiepoole. I really hope that Devin would not have to be banned. That he could just silence the crap and play nice. Or if that is not possible he restricts himself from the boards. I don't get involved in any major squabbles with anyone, I try to mind my own business and have fun here.

If I post something that people think is unfunny, I hope you have enough common sense to ignore it.

I'm not implying that I'm Don Rickles or the funniest guy, but some people here think they are the wittiest people here, and have no idea that someone is thinking badly of them the SAME way they might be thinking of someone else.

As for fighting, I've never, NEVER gotten into a serious, numerous thread involving insult filled fight with anyone. If I don't agree with you, I move on, I don't start or continue fights.

I'm a loyal supporter of the CHUD boards, and Creature Corner. I don't troll on other sites slamming these boards.

I come here, have fun and try to be a good guy.
I goof around where it is appropriate, post movie related posts in the movie boards. Start topics, hopefully to find people with common interests or to get new information, and I feel, that I am generally a good person to all involved.

If that makes me annoying, or an asshole to some then there is nothing that i can do.

But people, if you just find someone annoying, is it really the right thing to single them out just because you don't enjoy reading their posts? If so, I expect this thread to get a lot longer.

I don't fuck with anyone, and it would be cool if no one fucked with me.
