Thats the thing, I dont hate Devin. I'd meet Devin for a cup of coffee and I'm sure I'd enjoy his company.

The problem is that what he has brought to these boards recently (mainly the political one) is just a bunch of insults/taunts that stunt good conversation. If he stopped that I'd shut the fuck up and crawl back in my whole.

I was just commenting on the "everybody get pissed at Devin" bandwagon that is rampant on these boards. Everytime he posts, even when it isn't necessarily offensive, people shit their pants and order a crusade against him.

And if you read a lot of his posts, you can understand why. Just read some of the recent posts he has made in the political forum. They are laden with things like:

That's an over-simplification. Don't you think he enjoys the pissing contests? He thrives on arguments. His style of discourse does stand out from the pack, good or bad. Most of the regular and semi-regular Chewers just aren't that pissed off most of the time.

Seems to me that an honest, thoughtful liberal would never make disparaging remarks about another man's job. For someone who supposedly champions minority and worker's rights, Devin seems to have a lot of disdain for common working people.

And I like flyers quite a bit, but I do wonder why he always seems to have to jump in and defend Devin in virtually every thread he's being 'attacked' in.

People here have selective memory. It's like every post of mine is in defense of Devin, when in reality, it's not. Usually if I'm defending Devin, it's because of the topic at hand and not the fact that OMG DEVIN'S POSTING.

And regarding my job....

I make almost $12 an hour to basically play all day and help people have a good time. I get to meet people from all over the world and be a part of something they may remember for the rest of their lives. I have weekends off, and my schedule gives me plenty of time to work on my writing projects and other things and not have my job consume my life. I get to go to Horror Nights and pretty much any other Universal event for free, get to see free previews of Universal films, and get mad discounst all over town just by flashing my ID.

Thing is, Orlando is a tourism-driven town, and so there are a LOT of us working in the industry. It's not a vast dumping ground for the great uneducated mass, as much as Devin may want to say it is.

Bottom line, I enjoy it, and fuck you all if that ain't good enough for you.
