Here in Norman, Oklahoma last night I attended a celebration for film an television actor James Garner.
He was awarded a lifetime achievement award by the Oklahoma Film Commission, the key to the city and a really nice buffalo statue that actually brought him to tears. It was followed by a viewing of his movie Murphy's Romance (his only Academy Award nomination).
It was a really nice thing I thought, and a nice way to show appreciation for the man's very solid career.
It was a really special night for all of us involved. Really good stuff.
