I write this from the bottom of my heart, as I try to write anything here.
I am truly sorry for the unfortunate situation that is occuring in CHUD right now, specifically in the Chewers Forum. Let me start by saying that I love CHUD, I browsed here for a long time before joining, and I quickly found myself at home as a member. Obviously, I think the site's terrific - full of witty, intelligent reviews and info, etc - but ultimately I think it is the members that make CHUD what it is.
I would never intentionally cause such in-fighting and chaos, and tried in vain to make my idealistic notions understood. If I have offended anyone, or disrespected anyone, I apologize. This was not my intent, not in the least. I chose the wrong tactic to shed light on what I consider to be a problem here - the overabundance of relatively silly threads, and their "clogging up" the works. I made a mistake, and I regret it.
If it's at all possible, I'd really like to get all this craziness resolved with as little hassle or "fighting" as necessary. I am not arrogant enough to assume that I am the sole cause of these problems, but I had something to do with it, and therefore would like to be a part of getting it fixed.
I will do my best to treat everyone objectively, as individuals, and can only hope you will be willing to do the same. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty, in my book, and I automatically respect each of you just for being members of such a quality site and contributing all that you do.
Whether you accept my apology or not, I appreciate you taking the time to hear me out in this matter. If it's at all possible, let's try to wipe the slate clean and start over. If it's not, at least try to understand where I'm coming from.
Nick, I have nothing but the deepest respect for you and your site, and I am truly sorry if any of my actions implied otherwise. I have learned a harsh, but valuable lesson. Thank you, and all those who spend so much time and effort making sure this place stays the outstanding site it is. Know it has not been in vain.
