By process of nominations, seconds and voting, we're going to vote the Top Ten Threads in CHUDstory. This, as much as anything, will remind old-timers why they love this place and encourage newfolk to emulate past greatness.
The Rules:
1. Anyone with 1500 or more posts (multiple useraccounts can be combined) can nominate three threads deemed worthy of greatness. Each nomination should be accompanied with a link to the thread that is being nominated. You need not nominate all three at once, but nominations close on 11:59 P.M. on Tuesday, February 11.
Yeah, I know it's exclusionary to keep the new folks out of nominating, but they'll have power to second nominations and vote on the eventual Top Ten.
2. To make the final voting, a nominated thread must be seconded. Each person can second three nominations. Seconding can be done any time, but any nominations not seconded by 11:59 P.M. on Wednesday, February 12 will not go into the voting.
3. Beginning on Thursday, February 13 and continuing through 11:59 on Sunday, February 16, all users can vote for the three threads, with three points going to the first place, two to second and one to third. From those, we'll take the Top Ten.
Obviously, you can nominate a thread for any reason you like. I think a few remarks backing up why you think a thread is great are appropriate.
Feel free to use this thread for nominations. If there's actual interest in this, perhaps we'll open a comments thread, then a voting thread.
If there's no interest, I'll slink away and lobby for the return of the "delete thread" option.
EDIT: My last paragraph appears to have been prescient. Still, a good excuse to link to a few good pieces of work.
