Where is Mistress Shelby?

I haven't seen her since she posted that her roof leaked all over her computers.

Does anyone know if she can't post because her computers were damaged or is there some other reason for her disappearance?

I thought I saw a post or two since then, but she is defintely AWOL. I sent her an e-mail telling her we missed her and that we hoped all was well. Those pics sure didn't bode well for her living situation though. I sure hope she didn't have to move while they were fixing it.

Well, I think Kirby is dealing with relationship issues. Having just moved in with a girl, I bet it would suck to have him glued to his computer all night.

Okay, after this post and the one in Diva’s 50 dollar thread, I fear I may be becoming a Chud Stalker, but Shelby’s absence made me remember her Water Damage thread from Culture and Free form at the beginning of the month:

Devin has already mentioned that Kirby was unhappy and has probably voluntarily stopped posting. Sucks, but there's nothing you can do about it. I'm actually glad he didn't make a big deal out of it. When he's ready, he'll return.

I don't know that about Shelby, though. I'm asking if anyone has spoken to her or knows what's up with her computers (her last post was that she had a roof leak).

True, it's not a "I Miss So and So," but we're wondering where people are.

Kirby was changing his living style, plus he left abruptly, and Carl's got a new kid and a new job. We're merely using one thread to talk about a number of people.

I'd start a new one, but everything is confusing with SC running around now.

Flyers, if you want to start threads about them, go ahead. It's the Chewers forum. How could you think concerned posting about other Chewers would even get an acknowledgment from SC?

Well, considering I always thought Diva was a big proponent of letting a thread go where it may (I could've sworn that was her side when there was a thread about that) and this thread brought up more than Shelby, I didn't want to start a new thread and then have SC tell me that discussion was already on-going.

I'm genuinely concerned for her. Buttercup called Shelby and her phone is disconnected.

I really have nothing against threads being derailed. That's what happens on message boards. But in this case, I think it's disrespectful to me and Shelby that the thread turn into "Where is So and So because I haven't seen him post in 2 days."

Shelby, who is a vital member of the boards as well as a staff person, has disappeared with no indication as to why. This is not in her character.

Kirby will be back. Carl will be back. So will all the other folks who seem to turn petty message board sqabbles into a big deal (Note: I'm not saying this is what Kirby and Carl have done).

I have no doubt that Kirby and Carl are fine and that their lack of posting has little to do with anything but them being busy. I can't say the same about Shelby.

Not if you are authorized to and have clearance for viewing those records. Which I have, and do.

If I made public any of that information, I could be fired and prosecuted. I will not do so.

My question to you is: Why should we be concerned about these other folks?

I miss Kirby, too. He brought a lot to these boards. I'm just not convinced that his lack of posting warrents any concern for his well being.

Carl is just busy. He has a new baby to take care of. Of course we miss him around here, but there's nothing to be concerned about.

Shelby sent me some CDs as part of the whole music exchange thing in the music forum, so I have her return address from the packaging. I've gone through my trash and the envelope is intact, so check your PMs - I'll send her address and see if that helps.

Yeah, It's really kind of cool. We rallied around Blofeld in his time of need as well. It's good to know that total strangers can care so much about one another. My faith in humanity continues to grow from interacting with you all on CHUD.
