what *is* a prala? - Page 2

Kevin Smith reference (yeah I'm a nerd and Dellamorte gonna's hate me for it). Originally Bluntmatt, as a combo of Bluntman + my real name, then I got bored of the "matt" part and dropped it, hence "Blunt". I'm also an occasional toker, but that didn't really came into play.

Like Clarence Beaks, I wanted a handle that served as one of yer cool movie in-jokes but which was sufficiently obscure and free of immediate associations as to give me a distinct online identity (which can never happen when you're hansolo78 or snakeplissken6vm).

As fans of Repo Man are aware, Napoleon and Lagarto Rodriguez are freelance repo operators feared and derided for their refusal to adhere to the Repo Code. The length, grandiosity, and bizarre cross-ethnic quality of the name gave it an edge over "Chris Shaherlis", "Stathis Borens", and "Auda abu Tayi", so I settled in with it.

"Hahahaha well then my work here is done.. Well until I creep outta your tv later tonight!! Watch for me.. And can ya leave some cookies?"

Trust me, you'd prefer the brownies.
No, not those type of brownies. Here's a partial list of ingredients:
Ghiradelli brownie mix (with chocolate chunks)
Captain Morgan's Select
Hershey's Special Dark Syrup
Godiva Chocolate Liquer
Bailey's

Well, the word DJ comes from the term Disc Jockey, and Dylan is my name.

All my life, I've been an encyclopedia of jokes able to mimic the voices of just about every American cartoon character ever done (I also have the same ability with most male singers - my Billy Idol and Axel Rose are always in high demand at karaoke parties). So I've had many different nicknames ranging from Sharky (during my JabberJaws days) to Marvin. When "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" came out, people just settled on Cartoon or Toon. When I first got onto the net, it just made sense to stick with the name. The spelling came out of the chatrooms I used to frequent - by using two zeroes, it kinda looked I had big ol' cartoon eyes - an homage to the original Looney Toons end card. I stopped capitalizing the "C" to emphasize the effect. Voila, an original screen name was invented. Been using it ever since at every site I've ever joined.

That's all, folks!

I too am a history geek and was very much fascinated by Rommel. I spent my high school years studying him.

But as to my name, I used it when I needed a name for AIM about 6 years ago. I had started to get into Roman history and was reading about the designation of Imperator. To be declared one meant that you are a victorious general. GAC is short for Gaius Caesar, my second personal hero after Rommel.

I'm not some ignorant warmonger though. I've studied war enough to know that it really sucks.

I've have a passion for old folk tales and stories passed down all my life. My nickname Momotaro comes from an old Japanese legend of an old childless couple who wanted a son so that their hearts would be filled with joy.
One day while the old woman was washing clothes in the river, a giant peach floated down. She got her husband to retrieve it, and it opened up to reviel a small boy inside. Momo is Japanese for peach and taro is sometimes 'boy' or 'child'. So my nick represents 'Peach Boy'. Anyway, the boy goes on to defeat a dragon with the help of a dog, an owl, and various other animals.
Plus, it's a cool story. If you like folk tales, look this one up on the net.

I'm insanely evil and will never stop being so.

Beyond that, my name is "bill", the "z" is really an "n" turned sideways, which is the first letter of my last name, "3" is a mystical number that tends to come up in my life often, and "bub" was the nickname of my cousin Brad.

See, it's not just for show. I put some thought into it.

Christian Slater is a young Jack Nicolson.

Underrated in my eyes.

Blunt, never, it's just, quoting it all the time, thinking you're funny for referencing something that was (sometimes borderline) funny the first time.

Somebody has to. And if it can't be Franco Nero, might as well be me.

Cause despite cries to the contrary...Tomas Milan is a pussy Django...

RathBandu, your name always makes me think of "Crash Bandicoot". You know, that video game?
'zazu' is what I called myself when I was just learning to talk as a baby. My beloved parents called me that as an endearing term even when I grew up. They're both gone now, so I use it in honor of them.
I really like this thread. I always wondered about some of your names. I'm pleased to say that I was right about the origin of Rath Bandu.

As for myself, I had long been a reader of the boards but up until that point hadn't posted anything. I'd recently seen THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS when I read something, can't remember what, that demanded a response. I had to think fast and the first thing I came up with was to take my name from that great writer of frontier fiction and not quite Tenenbaum sibling Eli Cash.

In the comic Overboard by Chip Dunham, (http://www.ucomics.com/overboard/) there is a character named Seahawk and that is why I am called Seahawk.

I've held the nickname from LAN games since middle school.
