How do you view the CHUD boards?

The first person to answer 'With My Web Browser' dies by my hand this evening...

Just a quick opinion poll out of curiosity:

How do you view the boards?

Is this your Nirvana? A nice add-on to a robust web site? The only thing you view on CHUD?

With all of this Star Chamber madness going on, some of you have expressed strong opinions on what belongs here in the boards and what doesn't, as well as how you view the boards, but I was just wondering...

To answer my own question, this is a nice feature, and I value the friendships I have made here above all others, as they are my ONLY freindships at the moment. But this is just a small part of the greater whole to me.

I had some laughs here. I made some friends here.

CHUD has been the closest I could come to a stereotypical "college" experience.

That said...I feel like a Senior does six months before graduation. Like a Short Timer.

But everytime I walk out the door...people beg me to come back. Which is great for them. Unfortunately being "Django" and experiencing "Django" are two different things.

There's a few pockets of goodness still left on here. But they are few and far between...

It keeps me sane...
Your all on my little couch trip. Even though most of you are doodling while I tell you why I hate my mother....

CHUD Message Board: It's like being stuck in traffic on the way to the bar...

Well, it's like sex, without the big "O".

CHUD is where I get to be Ugly Goblin Boy for an hour.

The CHUD Message boards are the only message boards I post on and probably are the only message boards worth posting on.

This will sound sappy but I don't care. The great posters on this site (like Nick, Micah, Sean, Devin, etc.) are the reason why I come here everyday and why I keep coming back every hour (when I'm not at work or at school).

I would also like to thank all those great chewers out there that I've befriended in the short time that I've been here. They're great to talk with, especially Sean, and I hope to meet them at the upcomign Comic-Con when Nick does his thing at the movie webmasters panel.

CHUD's message boards are one of my raison d'tere's and before I used them, I had a small void in my life that I couldn't fill nor understand. Now that I'm here, I'm another step away from insanity.

Thank you.

CHUD is the big rubber band around my arm as I prep the vein.

(Did I really just write that? I've been here too long.)

Oh, I use my web browser. But I view the boards and the main site as being one thing pretty much. Each of them complementing the other. Without the main site, there wouldnt be the discussion of news and what not.

Sean?

I mainly use this place because I have a shitload of friends and not a one of them love movies. They only see mainstream bullshit, and the only comment they usually have concerning them is...

"It was cool."

or

"It sucked."

You know its really a place where everyone knows your name. Where theyre always glad you came (all over their faces).

Personally, I like all things CHUD. I read the main site and CC, and have slowly but surely insinuated myself into the boards (and, hopefully, the hearts and minds of my favorite people here - you KNOW who you are *growl*). I used to visit a lot of different boards (and a lot chat rooms - but I stay away from those now), but this is the only one I frequent regularly, now. It speaks to all my favorite geekdoms: Movies, DVDs, video games, and horror. Why go anywhere else?

i was just recently introduced to them, after a previous chatroom and message board i frequented way too much turned into a nightmare, people were hurt, lives were lost, cats were hopefully maimed, at first i was intimidated by chud, but now i find that i can post on something like ten boards at a time instead of just one, and people here ACTUALLY TALK ABOUT MOVIES, infuckingsane...

Absence makes the heart grow fonder...

I'm glad we,re back online. I hope the downtime wasn't too devastating to Nick's income. I am glad to have these boards. I love the articles, I love the conversation and I love the people. Thanks, Nick!

Like heroin x 10. I am ashamed that I post here, and have tried to quit several times, but at night, when I'm alone...it calls to me. Like a spastic fucking crack monkey on my shoulder screeching nonsensically into my ear...I can't stop...When I'm done...I feel so dirty...so alone....When I haven't posted in a while, I get jittery...my hands shake...and I just stare blankly at my useless computer, silently damning(and praising) this infernal contraption that is the internet....Nothing short of a bullet will make me stop.....because I can't do it myself....Oh God, help me.....

I am a film geek of the highest (or second higest) order. I have - for a very long time -lived, ate, and breathed movies. Few are the days I go without watching a film. I have worked at a video store, chatted up theater managers (some I've even chatted back down), and have geeked out with some of the finest movie nerds in the Pacific Northwest. But those who share my insane passion and didatic tastes are rare. Some of those insane people I've met on Chud. But more than that, Chud is a community in which I feel I belong. Take that (as I do) for what it's worth.

Heh... That's been my Email adress for years...
Die_By_MY_Hands@yahoo.com

I just noticed that... And I just wanted to bring more attention to myself.

As an extension of the irreverence that is CHUD.

Although I don't post much (been a member for 10 months, and only 160 or so posts), I feel like I could meet any of you and hit it off on some level.

Being a member of a couple other boards, this is by far the most intelligent and witty board I know of. None of the other boards will make me think or laugh quite like you Chewers can.

I also feel like I belong. Whether it is to this site or the next one that comes into my consciousness is a question I have yet to answer, but without the web or CHUD.com, I'm lacking something in me that is essential. War in Iraq be damned, I find fullfillment on this site, and I hope to make some friends here in the time I have left on this planet. Movies speak to me in a way that people rarely do. They reinforce my belief in this existence, and I shall live on in their name, as selfish as that may sound.
