I got people mad at me because I talk to chewers I ain't suppossed to talk to.

Because I don't hold gudges and don't allow things that happen here to influence me in any negative way, I am being blacklisted by some.

To those of you who currently think I'm scum because I speak with everyone nicely, I will not "take sides", no matter what issues you all have with each other. I simply have way too much shit happening in my life to let this place be anything but a well-guarded haven for me when I need it to be. If that means I have to play nice with the other kids in order to stay, then so be it. It has nothing to do with you. It is nothing against you. I am not gossiping with the people you hate. I am simply trying to be civil. My world is ambiguous, and to a certain extent, I am morally ambiguous.

I observe, but rarely judge. Especially here. I ask the people who have problems with this to cope, or come out once and for all and break ties with me. I'm too sick of being afraid of stepping on people's toes over the associations I make with others here.

Thank you for the well-wishes, etc. people. My main reason I posted this here was to get the attention of the people involved, as all attempts at sending e-mail have fallen on deaf ears. And I know they still come here.

I will elaborate a bit:

I have not been threatened or maligned in any way per se, but I have been excommunicated in a fashion by certain people because I refuse to carry their grudges. This happened to me once before, and I did some things I wasn't proud of to gain favour with said individuals. Things were going OK then friendship-wise. Then I started posting here semi-regularly again and actually joked around and got along with other people the first group don't like.

Then, silence.

No e-mails, no phone calls. Nada.

I've tried resuming contact and tried to be what I thought was a decent friend. But to no avail. I'm sick of being treated like that, hence this post. Say what you will about CHUD and the boards, but this place has given me more meaningful friendships than any other place I have been involved with, the military included. To think that I have to pick and choose who I converse with here is where I stop myself and think "What the fuck am I doing?"

It sucks to be phlegmatic sometimes...

Sometimes, you have friends of so many different stripes that there is no way you can please them all. It's very high school I suppose, but it can actually be quite flattering that "you" can get along with so many personalities.

My advice is try your best, and then blow off the rest, even if it hurts. Sometimes, friendships aren't meant to last forever. And trite as this sounds, if "you" aren't important enough for "them" to find a little maturity then f'em.

Well, there may be a possible other reason why I am being snubbed. Things might be so bad in these people's individual realities that they don't want to talk, period. Again, I have been getting information to suggest it's why I think it is, but a small part hopes that it's just because people are having a rough go at it.

And please let's not have this thread degenerate into the "ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO STAR CHAMBER" discussion. Verbal's heart was in the right place. And I am not offended by the offer. Just realize Verbal that if I need help with anything I wouldn't go to Star Chamber or people whom I am only casual friends with here on CHUD. Not because I am a prick. Just because I've been here awhile, and I have shared baggage with some of these people.

CT, Gracie is right. I have done everything humanly possible, including sending out an invitation to pick a time when they weren't going to be busy so that I could phone them, no matter when the time or where the place. So far, no luck.

Let's use this thread to give Mike support. Beyond that, there's not much you can do.

Calling people out is NOT good advice. It will lead to more friction.

Petty bickering among each other does not help anyone and is in direct opposition to how Nick would like these boards to operate.

Let's use some common sense folks.

hmmm, don't know how to take this mike, you seem like a top chum, a righteous dude, have enjoyed your posts, and i know i've just arrived here and all, in this chud, but these kinds of posts seem meeningless to me, if all you wanted was shallow support from people who know nothing of what's going on you could have probably gotten that through emails or pm's, without giving names it's almost as if you're asking us to choose sides against some invisible adversary that we know nothing of, i don't mean to sound biting or harsh, maybe honest, but i can not cast a sympathy vote for this type of undisclosed action, to spend so much time on something that has already been labeled as petty seems like a waste of your time and just adds to the horrible drama of it all, unless there have been actual threats irl, that's a different story with legal implications and names should be given, otherwise, all i can say is, wish you luck with this, people suck, hope it sorts itself out...

I am not asking for sympathy or support. Re-read what I posted. This is the last place available to me to connect with the people in question. I am not naming names so as not to stir up any new shit, out of respect for the general populace. If I wanted shallow attention, I would have started a thread called "WORSHIP ME YOU TINY ANTS!!!" And you know what? Some people would have posted support in that too. People know when I am being serious and when I am just being a cock. Total outsider post who doesn't know anything about what's going on behind the scenes, but I got the impression that this thread was more or less meant to be a zero reply thread. I didn't get the impression from the original post that Mike was looking for anyone involved to post here, and he didn't seem to be looking for any of those not involved to post either. It seemed clear that he had exhausted all other means of contacting those involved and the last thing he could do was a "shout out" on the boards in the hopes they would contact him personally.

At least that's how I read it.
