post #51 of 108
Is your cat okay Prala? It might be a sign that you cat is getting the flu/cold.

I love all of the pictures of your pets. I wish I could have a cat but I am so allergic to them that if I even enter a room that a cat has been in my eye start watering and my nose clogs up. But at least I am not allergic to dogs because I don't know what I would do without my dogs.

Here are my dogs, Jack and Bailey. Bailey was still a puppy when this photo was taken and Jack was about ten years old. Jack is black and bailey is brown. Yes they are poodles.
<img src="http://img.ranchoweb.com/images/sleeplesslumber/jackandbaily.jpg" alt="" />

Here a more recent photo of Bailey all grown up. The other dog in this photo is Harley, a neighbors dog we were taking care of while they were on vacation. Their eyes look weird from the flash. From left to right: Harley, Jack, and Bailey.

Here's a picture of my (Battle Pussicat) Alita, taken at the S.P.C.A. for their website. Notice how my girl is looking down the blouse of whomever took the pic? That's my girl. (Although she does fart quite a bit.)

I wish I had a cat. Instead, im stuck with this beast of a Newfoundland named Daisy, and a little white Cotton de Tulear named Bogart.

Wow, that's wierd. The double post is a full 10 minutes after the first. Damn, internet. Well, I do love Shelby for many things, but least of all for hosting these...

I have a cat named ninja, He has vowed to slay anyone who takes his picture, much like the lead villain of THE HUNTED

Ah, John Lone. Kinjo was one of the possible names for my cat before Hastur bribed me to stay with her tradition of keeping all cats named after Shakespeare characters.*

*I'm changing my pen name to Jeremiah Shakespeare, so I can use names from my stories. She never specified it had to be William's characters.

This is my Nicholas. I feel fortunate to have him, as he is affectionate, and he does something to make me laugh at least once a day. I like to think that he is mostly Korat, like Coyote's Tibalt.
<img src="http://home.attbi.com/~aviator2005/Nicholhouse.jpg" alt="" />

This next picture is for scale. I am 5'7", so yes, he is a huge cat.

<img src="http://home.attbi.com/~aviator2005/Maxwell.jpg" alt="" />

I am posting this picture in case any of you Chewers with cats doubted that those videos for kittys actually work. They do. This is my dearly departed Maxwell (half Manx, half Siamese, another massive cat), and he tried everything to get to the creatures in the video, even going behind the TV to try to find them.
I rented the video to try it, but I never bought one because I wasn't sure that it was a good thing. It stimulated the cat, but kind of frustrated him too.

i honestly don't think i've ever seen a completely gray cat before.

I have. I love the grey cats. They ar so fluffy and cute!

My cat is black. All Black. (Shut up people, I know what it means). Knocks things over, climbs on top of the computer, runs amock in my dried flowers and sits on my ass when I'm trying to sleep, but I love her. Recently, I've tried teaching her tricks (with those pounce kitty treats as a bribe) but she just fakes me out and eats the snack instead. Anyone sucessfully had their cat trained to do anything amusing?
post #77 of 108
Anne, he's got a fairly wide face, so he may be a russian blue (which is what we thought Tybalt was when we found him, and why I just latched onto him...I always wanted a russian blue), but he has that ridge on his back, which suggests korat. I'm not an expert by any means, I'm just tossing the ideas out.
Either way, yum. Gorgeous cat wink

We currently have Kitty Cat TV in the new apartment. Hastur has set up a squirrel disk and a birdfeeder outside on the porch...which takes up the whole glass wall in this room. Her boyfriend notes it's dual purpose...the cats are watching an action nature channel, the squirrels are outside, watching a horror movie through the glass.

Prala, fun thread, I like it. First of all, everyone's puddies and bow-wows are too cute.
Second, I am one of those who has to try teaching her cat tricks, just to see if he can do it. My old cat, Maxwell, would sit up quite well, and sit and shake hands, but he really didn't like it. I made him do it once a day anyway, and he got a treat every time. It took patience, but I just followed the directions in a book on teaching cats tricks. There are a bunch of them out there. Apparently, cats are highly trainable, something that Hollywood knows, but a cat's character is so different from a dog, that people don't really see the point in doing it. Like I said, depending on the cat's personality, he may enjoy it or not. There are super cats out there, like the Purina ones that I saw at a cat show. They put on a show as a promotion. Weird.
My new cat, Nicholas, objected to the effort it took to sit up, so we don't do that (worship me, I am cat. don't make me do dog stuff, that sort of thing). But he does have a nice little kitty handshake, where he paws my hand, but he still won't let me hold his paw.

Why Coyote, thank you for the compliment on my cat, you make me blush.
I see you have the entertainment going on for all, that's great. I don't know who Hastur is though.
post #80 of 108
Tybalt lets me do pretty much anything to him...hold his paws, massage them, dangle him like a rag doll...and purrs. He just loves the attention.

Hastur's one of my roommates, and is the girl currently acting as Editor in Chief on CHUD stories. Occasionally, she can be seen in Creature Corner (huge horror fan) or the Sex boards if there's something silly going on. Usually, she enjoys CHUD vicariously through me (and vice versa...instead of posting herself, CHUD's usually exposed to her through me as she yells, "Say I..."

I have a black cat (they kick ass) and she is the greatest. Whenever I come home from college she sees me and instantly runs into my room and hops onto my bed looking for affection.

I decided to move this thread up a little to avoid all the drama going on around it. I have some good pics of my pets if someone would like to host them...

(I just realized that this goes well with my sig)

YAY!

I only exist to create non-drama (nama?).

So, the only problem with my black cat is the part where i step on her.
When its dark out.

I have a Bosten Terrier named 'Grendel'

I want to post a pic of him. Someone care to host the pic? I don't want to keep bugging Gracie. I'd hate to be a bother just because I feel a need to share.
post #86 of 108
Dramanamarama?

I used to have a black lab/chow mix named Grendel. He didn't even understand groly negativity from other dogs...he thought that was a sign to play. He was...aggressively friendly.

Thanks for the link, NervousXtian. Let's just hope I do this the right way. I previewed the post and it looked okay...

This is my dog Lottie. Her full name is Lady Charlotte Louise. We used to have two Welsh Corgis and we gave both of them really cheesy British names.

<img src="http://hyperphoto.photoloft.com/view/exportImage.asp?s=cano&i=10418195&w=256&h=192" alt="" />

Minnie, one of my cats:

<img src="http://hyperphoto.photoloft.com/view/exportImage.asp?s=cano&i=10418196&w=256&h=192" alt="" />
<img src="http://hyperphoto.photoloft.com/view/exportImage.asp?s=cano&i=10418198&w=256&h=192" alt="" />

This is Una and Leo III. They're the mascots at the University of North Alabama. My dad is one of their vets.

<img src="http://hyperphoto.photoloft.com/view/exportImage.asp?s=cano&i=10418194&w=256&h=192" alt="" />

They're a lot bigger than that now and they live in a habitat that's probably nicer than my apartment.

Our dogs lying in wait. They are affectionately known as Fatty and Stupid (from right to left). We have a cat too but he's still too pissed about the whole addition of dogs to the family thing so he refuses to be photographed in protest.
