Roche Organization For Animal Rescue

My wife and I have a soft spot for animals. We saw these little guys who had been deposited beneath a neighbor's car. We have a number of strays around our place. We're gonna try finding Mom and take the whole crew to the Vet's office where my wife works. Until mommy is located we are syringe feeding them. They are about 3 weeks old.

You're awesome. i appreciate your care for them.

That is absolutely awesome. My mom has had to raise kittens from that stage fairly often. "Time consuming" is too generous a phrase for that age.

Good luck. You're a savior.

Too cute for words. Is there anything this man won't do?

...Other than use a PC?

Just when my hope in humanity has nearly dried up I see stuff like this.

Way to go.

I used to work in a Vets office and I saw some damn cold-blooded things towards our furry friends. My hatred for the stupid, mean people only got worse.

On occassion though stuff like this would happen and make me glad to be alive.

Maybe this awesome gesture will make those who dislike cats grow a soul, a heart and a mind bigger than a pea.

Keep up the good work, the world needs more like you.

Nice work, Scott! You think they might've been dumped by someone? We used to have that happen all the time in the woods behind our house when I was growing up. As a result, we were never without at least four cats. My folks in Ohio now have a whopping seven to care for, including the two I brought back from NYC and left behind after I moved out to L.A. I miss 'em, but they're living the life now, and are perfectly happy at being able to go outside in a nice big backyard bordered by woods, rather than watch drug deals and fistfights from a window in Brooklyn.

Keep restoring faith in humanity people, we've got a long road ahead of us.

Good work chief.

Thanks for the good words folks. These are almost definitely strays and we hope to find the momma and get them all checked out. I can already tell that the one I took a profile shot of is going to be the dominant one.

Awwwwwwwwww...

You are a good man, Scott. I've taken in strays at that age and its so rewarding to see them grow into healthy kittens big enough to be adopted by someone who will love them. You are also such an inspiration to your kids. If I ever have little ones I hope to be as generous and kindhearted as you and your wife seem to be. I hope you find mama kitty soon.

Were they hiding under there, or did it look like they'd been PUT there by MommaCat?

Yeah that was on purpose.

Update. We have taken the kittens and put them at a neighbor's. We all have these privacy fences around our back porches. These folks live near our dumpster and frequently feed the strays. Not long after we put the kittens out on their porch, mama cat showed up and started nursing them. We figure to leave them their and either 1) Get a cat trap from the vet's office if they have one and catch mama (most definitely feral) and take them all too the vet's office this week or 2) Wait a bit for the kittens to get weaned or very close and take them to the vet's sans mama if we can't catch here. Either way these guys will get their shots and get spayed/neutered and will go to good home. Employees from the vet's office frequently bring in strays for the Docs to fix up and then adopt out, sort of a small scale animal shelter. I'll keep you guys updated if ya want or even if ya don't. wink

Oh my god.... they're so precious. Thats so awesome what you're doing!

I've done my share of "very" young kitten raising. It's a lot of work but they really grow a strong bond with you bottle feeding them and caring for them from such a young age. Good work on saving them.

Scott, you're just an awesome human being. The only reason I 5'd you is that was as high as the rating would go.

The one in the 3rd pick reminds me of my cat, Harley (who I sorta kinda saved from being euthanized).

My cat was a stray, too. Best pet I've ever had. It's a great thing you're doing.

Sweet baby kitty found

Dear Friends,

My name is Michele Silva. I live in Winston Salem, NC, and found a beautiful baby kitty, maybe 4 or 5 months old (wild guess). It seems to me she's a girl.

She's very sweet and loves all the attention. I live on a small apartment with my mother in law, husband and daughter, plus two cats that are very, extremely territorial, making it very difficult for me to offer this baby a stable foster home. Right now I'm even having a lot of problems with my husband regarding this situation, but I don't have the heart to give my back to this cat. I can email pictures of her if any of you might be interested in helping her.

A neighbor is helping me feeding the cat, but these are all buildings and a lot of parking lots, cars are all around the place and the cat can easily get runned over, poisoned by somebody, or be exposed to the elements. It just breaks my heart to not be able to find at least a good foster home for her.

I'm more than willing to help taking the cat to adoption fairs or anything needed. If you or somebody you know can provide her with a good, caring home, or if you work for an organization that might have volunteers who can open their homes to her until we can find her a family, please let me know..

I have exhausted all of my resources before contacting you all for this. Please answer me as soon as possible. You can email me at lossilvafougeres@bellsouth.net

Thank you so much for anything you can do!!

Sincerely,

Michele Silva

You and your wife are incredible people and I admire what your doing. I wish more people would treat animals with the respect they deserve. Good work!
