Pregnant? What?

So I need some seriously good vibes from Chewers today, since at 1:20 cst my wife and I are going to find out if the three EPT tests were really true.

I am so freaked out and nervous and excited right now. It is strange because I can't believe I might have a kid. I always think of myself as an overgrown kid.

Plus, I am nervous as hell because I have no job right now. I had to be a permanent sub at my wife's school from January thru May to help pay the bills. So, I am worried about giving the baby everything it needs.

Oh, and the reason i am posting this, well, this has been the closest place for me to discuss things and share ideas since i moved to austin, since all my other friends are scatterred throughout the country.

And, i keep wondering, should I show the baby Apocalypse Now at 7 like my dad did with me?

Anyway, can just use the good chewer vibes, Cthulu offerings, prayers, animal sacrfices, or whatever sent our way.

I lost my job a few months after finding out we had a sprog on the way. These things have a habit of working out - if (hopefully when) there's a baby on the way, you'll be amazed at how you learn to get by.

Good luck Casey, hope everything works out all right for you. And yes, do show him Apocalypse Now at 7. Hell, do like my parents did with me and take him to his first movie when he's 2 years old, he'll thank you for that later.

Wow, good luck.

It sounds trite, but you become a better person when you have a child. Unless you are my brother, who became a waste of flesh, but that's a story for another day...

Those tests are pretty accurate these days, I am going to take a guess that soon we will be turning this into a 'congratulations' thread. Let us know how it goes!

Congratulations and good luck! I'm right there with you...well, maybe I'm a little ways up the road. We found out last week that ours is a boy.

Thanks everyone for the messages.

Wow, I spent all yesterday after we found out on the phone. I nearly fell asleep on people at the end there were so many people to call.

Congrats to you Eli on the boy.

It is such a weird time though. Going from the shock of finding out to the nerves of what to do next to the awe of realizing I ma bringing life into this world.

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks to everyone.
