Chud Shout-Outs: The Sequel

Thread Starter
I figured I would just start a new thread for Chewers to compliment each other in a polite manner. We can never have too much many threads designed to make the day brighter for other individuals.

Carl 90210:
You are a good friend even though you enjoyed 2 Fast 2 Furious. Thanks for always talking to me no matter what mood I am in. You are always there to listen to me bitch about women, exaggerate about movies, and debate the particular merits of Lucy Maud Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables.

Rath:
You are a crazy bastard, but that is probably your best quality. Thanks for the completely random IM sessions and the shoulder to bitch on.

The Hellboy:
I have a hundred things to thank your cynical ass for and I am sure you know all of them. Thanks for putting up with my shenanigans.

Werewolf Gurl:
You are the hottest greasy male trucker on the boards. Thank you for that.

Avalon:
Thanks for being there at 4:45 in the morning when I was having one of those days/nights/mornings.

Slater:
Thanks for your brilliant editorial skills and your hilarious sense of humor.

Nick, SJR etc.:
Thanks for the site. Thanks for the boards. Thank you for consistent funny and informative news and reviews. Much appreciated.

I could go on and on, but I don't have the time. To everyone I forgot: I love you like I love nachos. Thanks.

DJ Dylan: Keep that Subaru going. College will kick ass. Thanks for the good conversations.

Sister Gracie Lou: Zelda, Angel... You are awesome. And you wear glasses. Yes! You are the greatest.

El Gray: Alias and Buffy, on-going commentaries during each through IM. Thanks for that.

86, you are so sweet I could just eat you up!

I hesitate to start a list because I love so many of you. I do have to say that I feel a special place in my heart for those of you I have had the pleasure of meeting in CHUD Chat, even if it was only once. And this feeling extends to those of you who have sent me PMs, I thank you. *Hugs & Kisses*

Blofeld: The man, the mystery. The coolest guy I know. And he's helluva more fun in person.

CTDelude: You're the man for being a backup that I know I can count on.

Kid Ego: The guy whose helped me through the RPG's and been fun to talk to on AIM.

Roche: My friend. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Shout Out to
Kid Ego and Momo, my fellow Oklahoma chewers. If you ain't checked out their <a href="http://www.networkops.cc/" target="_blank">comic strip</a>, do it, it pretty funny shit.

Shout Out to
Wickerman, Floydian Trip and ClericNismo from the filmmakers forum. Generally, my favorite discussions on the boards. And good luck moving ClericNismo.

Shout Out to
BillJohnson, who knows a lot about the business and it willing to share his info with us "lesser" peons. wink

And a shout out to
Nick, SJR and Devin for generally the best (and most entertaining) writing I have read on any movie site.

Until SJR builds a Giant Golden Idol to promote his worship of Joel Silver, make mine CHUD.

Chris Carraba - Dude, you've helped me through many lonely nights. You keep singin' 'em, we'll keep listenin' to 'em.

The Get-Up Kids - Sure, you play electric guitars, but I can hear the pain behind the power chords. You guys speak to me.

Jason Mraz - I want your name so bad, LOL. You're cool like that. You have feelings, but you also make kooky videos with chickens and stuff. That stuff is funny.

John Mayer - You make me feel good about my body.
Shout out to Bateman for making a positive thread!
Here's a few of mine, there's a lot more that I'll try to catch up on later.

Scott Roche - The man, my friend. You've helped me improve my writing more than anyone else I know. Your personality and devotion to life is contagious. Keep up the good work.

Katanga - Ben, you rock. You are a great influence and I admire your creativity and devotion to your characters.

Dave Brosius/General Logan - Keep up the good work, dude. You are skilled in the art of creative profanity at a level only surpassed by the likes of Nick.

Devil Unicron - You keep me awake on IM, and your conversations never fail to amuse me. You also write a thousand times better than I did at your age; I applaud you.

Seahawk - You remind me of me, except much more ethical. Keep the faith. You rock.

Momotaro - My Chang Sing brother. This picture says all:

Wow, where to begin...

-Scott Roche, Hubris and Mad Man Muntz: If I ever had brothers, I would want them to be you guys.

-Ms D'Kay, Coyote, Dark Hedgehog, General Logan and Kittyinjammies: Without a doubt, once of best CHUD meetings to date.

-Voltes: My little Asian prince. Where are you?

-Boonsaint: Chud Chat Head Mod in Charge. And a fellow Raider's fan. Old Skool!

-General Zod, Starving Dog, and billz3bub: Some of the midwest's best damn people I've had the pleasure of getting to know through your posts. Let's not have Kansas vs. Oklahoma vs. Missouri. Can't we all just get along?

-Nick: What can I say that hasn't already been said? Thanks for everything.

Kid Ego: We really shook the pillars of Heaven, Wang. No bullshit. And you're not the ass you think you are, despite what everyone else says...

Hey, back at ya, man. We do help keep Answer a Question/Ask a Question alive in the Humor forum, don't we? Anyway, somebody has to live in the center of the country. It might as well be funky spectres like us. You, me and Kid Ego get paid to stare at a computer screen for hours on end. Amazing.

While I'm speaking up, I should say that I don't know too many people here very well, as I'm usually only able to post in the wee hours and I'm never on chat at the right time. However, a few solid-gold people stand out in my mind:

Nick - because we all get to be here, and also for the generous package I just received today.

SJR - Reporter extraordinaire. Thanks for passing the Hollywood scene through the shit filter for us.

CHUD writers - You are all doing great work, and I exclude no one.

Micah - Voice of amazing reason and patience on the boards. You fight for the good side.

Dan Whitehead - Lost, funnier member of Monty Python. If we could all have your abilities and interesting life, we probably still wouldn't live in the UK. But I kid our only remaining allies...

Otisthecat, D.B. Cooper, Slater - Kansas homies one and all (even if you don't like it here )

All the CHUD femmes - you know who you are. At least I hope you do. Thanks for not having a sausage.

thedudeabides - One of the best newer Chewers, but you gotta drop the fucking Dick Van Patten bit, man. Really.

I'm cutting it off before I turn this into a novel, but there are many many more people here that I appreciate. One of them in the past is not Pizza Kid.
It just wouldn't be right if I didn't say something about Dances with Chansaws:
With who else could I carry on a conversation about canibalism, plus trade the occasional baby baking tip?
To borrow from Bruce the shark, "Fish are frends not food"... That's what people are for, you know it and I know it. He's the only one of us brave enough to live it. You could all learn a lot from him, you could all be better people as well. If you would only just listen, you would then realize the brillance of the Chainsaw.

billz3bub - Funny as hell. 'Nuff said.

A few more.

Matt Sharp - It'll be OK, man. You saved up, right?

Rivers Axl Rose Cuomo - It's like taking a blue CD player and a yellow CD player, smashing them together, and getting a green CD player. So brilliant.

Jason Fox - Your daily shenanigans never cease to provide me with joy. Your cunning ways always have Paige on the run. I respect that.
Coyote and Hastur - Thanks to CHUDStories for re-kindling my love of writing!

Fett - THe jealousy I have regarding your job aside, you are tops! I want to write with you one day!

Rath - Keep it real kid. You have so much potential it scares me. In a few years with some RL experience and maturity under your belt you could be unstoppable.

Kid Ego - The hands down best poster in CS2. And on a RL tip, a geniune guy who is a MUCH better write than he thinks he is.

Katanga - What can I say? Between you and Dave, you have shown me generosity that helps my faith in humanity. If I don't meet you guys withing th enext 12 months face to face, there is o justice.

Dave Brosius - See the above, but also this. Dude you should NOT quit writing (not that I think you were serious). You too have a future in this if you want it.

Devil Unicron - My brother in Morrowind adn one of the bigger reasons I miss IM at work.

Seahawk - My true brother in JC and in combined struggles. Your work with the kids is truly a work of the Spirit. Keep it up!!

Momotaro - My goatee brother! You guys keep cranking out that fine comic!!

Blunt - What can I say here? You have helped my French and my knowledge of all things babe-a-licious. Your writing continues to improve. I want to see your name attached to a big screen project in the next five years!

Wickerman - I saved the best for last. My writing partner and kindred spirit in England. Together we will shake the floorboards of Heaven with our books and movies!
Hmm, lemme see.

Chewers:

Sir Dan of Whitehead - Not only an excellent chewer and the best writer this side of that talking skull guy, but also a great friend and colleague. The Droopy McCool to my Max Rebo.

Katanga - Where's my email? A damn good friend, a very funny guy, and one I hope to meet in the near future.

Logan - You're a good man, fucker. One of the funniest sites around, and a bloody good bloke. I think.

Blunt - If I ever need a Gallic sidekick to fight crime, you're it. Another damn good writer, and more importantly, a great friend.

Roche - You can be my wingman any time. Just don't hang up when GREEN LANTERN VS IMPERIOUS LEADER makes the call.

Hellboy - Namedropper or not, a great guy, and someone I've really come to appreciate.

Beaks - One of the best reviewers around, and a true lover of film. Expresses himself in a way I only wish I could come close to.

Dre and Khitch - Apologies for putting you both in one, but you're the Duke Boys of TEAM ASIA. Stand-up guys, and always fucking cool.

Dave Davis - Another valued member of TA, and a fine appreciator of all things female.

Alice - My proposal still stands.

Orange - Intelligent, funny, and British. Nuff said. Looking forward to meeting you.

CREATURE-CORNER - Butane, the Creetch, Ryan et al do a bang-up job on all things horror, and are all great people to boot.

Nunz - Indirectly responsible for my current employment, a damn fine writer, and an all round good guy.

Micah - Still in awe of this guy.

Strax - The most loveable Londer this side of Sir Michael of Caine. Looking forward to having you at the roach motel.

Others:

Radiohead - Hail to the Thief is tops. Please visit Macc soon.

Tool - Please don't ever split up. I couldn't handle that after FNM and AIC.

Apologies for no doubt missing out loads, but my fingers are hurting.

Bateman: If only everybody had an ounce of your enthusiasm...

Andre Dellamorte: I bow to your knowledge and class...

Smilin' Jack Ruby: Thanks for the props, my friend. SJR is required reading at the BPRD...

Fett & Whitehead: Cool Brittania, indeed. I can't wait to get across the pond on the next "project" and meet you guys in the flesh...

Carl Cunningham: The true keeper of the Jedi flame...

Johnny Butane & the Girlcreeture: Tahnks for having us, sorry about the blood on the rug...

CTDelude: Waving the California flag high...

The Ladies of CHUD: Shelby, Prala, Kitty, Diva, Anne...forgive me if I've left anyone out - all I can say is "Yeah, Baby!"

Everybody who contributed to The Inspector's "Alien: Killing machine..." thread: That's what this should all be about...

and of course, Nick Nunziata - he got that damn "Hellboy" Samaritan shell!...jealous jealous

Shout-Out to

Khitch: For being the man who gave me the keys to the foutain of Asian film bliss (even though I think he secretly doesn't want me at MusicaPlaza because he might run into me )

P.S H's a really cool guy that should still have a 5 rating (Bastards who voted otherwise!!!)

Dre: For always throwing in his bit of film knowledge and of course his wit.

Fett: For the countless number of things he likes and is willing to share about no problem.

Tony Ryan: For being one guy who has a desire to make things happen with his dreams and just for the very fact he has more DVD's than Nick has hair on his face. Also for being quite the grounded individual.

Dave Davis: For the countless lists he has provided for Asian films to see and also bringing attention to those flicks coming to America which every Chudder has a duty to see.

Electrichead: For being encouraging (as an LA brother should be) whenever I mention what is going in my life. Now that's cool.

Guyute: For being a guy that knows his computer and games and was willing to provide me with certain information on things I need to obtain. Very cool.

Seahawk: For reminding me of me and how scary that is but at the same time the guy has heart and his faith is a solid foundation. Always willing to chat and recieve whatever "nuggets of knowledge" and can drum up.

Kronos: For knowing what attitude to have on a messageboard and is always willing to joke around no matter what. Even though he lives in Sacramento that seems to have not affected him adversely.

Blofeld: Definitely for being who he is and the upstanding guy he is and the parent he is. Always a source of knowledge and wisdom and a guy who listens even if I ramble.

SJR: For providing me with tidbits I should know about what is going on here in LA as well as being that pretty cool guy you all have heard about. And to his *ahem* lady-friends!

Scott: For being that brother who always shakes his head and provides haikus of all things when he thinks I keep pressing issues. A good father too and has an attitude one should look up to.

Floydian Trip: Just for being an interesting guy that cannot get enough of games of all types. not to mention he posts alot in the Budding Filmmakers board.

Burke: For being conservative and braving San Fransisco at the same time. Also provides enough back up in the lower boards so that my head won't explode.

Thomas Galvin: For not only being a brother who knows his stuff but he also knows stuff about swords. Now that is cool. And not to mention he makes his arguments out well enough to save me from embarassment.

Jennifer: Though we haven't talked in awhile I am amazed how willing she is to share the goings on with her life. You're going to make it Jen. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

Otis: Though the guy stays to that safe middle ground ( ) he still is great in conversation and ready to jump into it.

Singer: Though his inner scorn shows no bounds he at least keeps it inside and for that I am thankful, but besides that the guy is a great joker and can at least take a joke. And he still likes games amazingly enough.

Verbal: For being, well, Verbal. Guy has got enthusiasim all over and it shows.

Poxy: For being another guy willing to jump into the arguments and I usually get a laugh out of a lot of his posts. A Chud mainstay I might add.

Beaks: He went from ripping me back one left and right to only ripping me on one side now but at least he can do it without really insulting. Plus he gives us all those heads up and all those movies.

Grifter: For being a new addition to the Political debates and putting up his dukes. God give you strength man, facing those guys. wink

Z-Man: He knows where film festivals are at and generally keeps an eye on what LA is doing and what is happening around it gun riddled boundaries. Always useful, always welcome.

Sorro: Always glad to have him chime into the debate and is good for ranting PM's. A supporter to say the least.

Nelson: Though most don't know how to take his opinions I give him props for sticking to his guns and never backing down. Too often people retreat in criticism but he sticks to what he's got. And hey he is webmaster of <a href="http://www.michaelbay.com" target="_blank">www.michaelbay.com</a>

I know I've missed a ton of people and I know how that feels to be missed but as I think of them I'll add on to it. Plus I think I took enough space.

Gioangles:
For attempting to copy Leo's moves from Catch Me if You Can.

Anne:
Thanks for the neverending love of all things JK. It's nice to see someone else a little over zealous. Also, thanks for lying and saying I was handsome. Check is in the mail.

Angelus:
Thanks for making me laugh.

Dan Whitehead:
Brilliant. You have a fantastic sense of humor and always seem to chime in with the smartest comments re: anything Marvel.

Dances With Chainsaws: You are hilarious, never stop strangling hookers.

Hmm … difficult one this due to my complete anti-social nature and all-round black heartedness, but here goes:

Dan Whitehead: okay, so he hails from the UK equivalent of the lost valley of the dinosaurs, but – he sure can write some entertaining stuff.

Carl Cunningham: probably the second most consistently maligned person on CHUD, quite how he takes it all in his stride is beyond me.

Alice IW: Her cheerful exuberance brings a smile even to this cantankerous curmudgeon.

Bateman: Some might argue that he is CHUD’s very own enfant terrible, but his infectious enthusiasm is … well … infectious. &lt;g&gt;

F e t t: Any guy who promises to pay for my entire night’s beer consumption can’t be bad. (Don’t forget matey – I like my beer cold and expensive in Manchester)

Mecha: A fellow PKD fan – therefore his taste in all things cannot be impugned.

Rath: Prone to the odd pyroclastic surge, but a nice guy nonetheless.

Prankster: Respected as he’s defied my best efforts (so far) to make him bite.

Voltes: Absence makes the heart grow fonder…

Micah: Where would we all be without his Dirty Harry-style thread interventions?

Poxy: All round nice guy with the best ‘real life’ job around here.

Walter: Penetrating and insightful comment; discount at your peril.

Andre D: The first fella I ever gave five stars to: never regretted it in all honesty.

SJR: I generally value his opinion above all others – a real cineaste.

Kronos: He likes Formula 1 – what more can you say?

Dances with strippe … sorry Chainsaws: How can anyone not like this guy?

Scott Roche: any man who has the guts to stand by his beliefs is ok in my book.

Dan Laugharn: never fails to make me laugh.

Devin: because he fancies me, and I think he’s a cutie too. &lt;grin&gt;

Apologies to all those others who I have missed: I love you all.

Oh – one final word for that fellow Nunziata: well done.

I seldom do these, but I feel inspired....

Mikah: The man is just balls-on smart. And versatile -- he can argue movies, politics, and music without missing a beat. And he rarely loses his head, which is a rare commodity around here.

Carl Cunningham: The rare Star Wars fan who neither bleeds flannel nor cries "Lucas raped my childhood!"

Dan Whitehead: Another smart one, and someone who knows how to string a sentence together with the best of them.

Scott Roche: For holding together all those RPGs and being patient when I post about as often as Stephen King puts out a Dark Tower book.

Diva: 'Cause I think she looks cute in her pictures and I'm a guy. Sue me.

Nick: For allowing me the chance to watch The Hot Chick and unleash my bile upon it. And for having the damn hoopiest website around.

And a shout out to anyone who shouted out to me. Right back at ya.

Bateman Forever.
Shout-outs...

...for Nick, whose has successfully combined his twin loves of horticulture and goat-breeding in ways that lesser men and the faint of heart can only watch in awe.

...for Bateman, who never fails to chase slugs from his front porch every morning, laughing madly all the while. Never give up, young Bateman. Your perchant for shitting obscene amounts of pure, unrefined table salt will provide the decisive turning point in the Great Slug War that is your life.

...for Dan Whitehead, who is like a cool gust of air on your sweaty testicles in the sweltering June heat, only in a resoundingly not-gay way.

...for Laugharn, who occasionally dresses like a ninja and cavorts around his room hooting wildly while pretending to stab the Crocodile Hunter, but only when he thinks nobody is watching. He is wrong, and we love him for that wrong-ness.

...for Saucy, whose neverending quest to hunt down and kill the elusive Inspector #6--who mockingly branded Saucy's Hanes underwear with his mark of terror so many years ago--is a source of constant inspiration to us all.

--for Mikah, who can sing salamanders to sleep in ancient tongues long since forgotten by mankind.

--for Carl, whose steadfast insistence that Pokemon are real creatures who live inside his inner ear cavity and demand offerings of Cheez-Whiz is an everpresent fountain of whimsy from which we all drink.

--for Johnny Butane, the only man that yaks fear.

--for Clarence Beaks, whose innate gift for chewing his way through any substance has simultaneously made him the world's most formidable burrowing mammal and the world's least-considerate oral sex provider.

--for Smilin' Jack Ruby, the world's 173,832rd fastest man. He might not win the races himself, but he's determined to kill every man, woman and child who does. So, in a way, he's just like Rocky, except he uses rakes instead of fists, and Rocky didn't fight so many frightened kids.

--for Dave Davis, who truly knows the meaning of the word "seashell."
