Money or love?

It's possible that I'll be made two offers within the next week by potential employers. Here's the predicament:

More money to start in an industry that I'm not passionate about; or,

Less money to start with the good potential for advancement in the next 12- to 18-months in an industry I'm passionate about.

All other things being equal, which to choose?

The latter, every time.

Yes, but you just want the benefits of my employee discount...

If you can handle the pay, take the latter. But you must do what you have to do to live.

The latter most assuredly.

Were it me I'd go for number one but I am passionate about books. (I assume you are too as I don't envision you as passionate about insurance or employee benes.)

I would definately go with the one you are passionate about.

Whether in my personal life or in my career, I have always chosen love over money, so I gotta say go with the latter, Blo.

Follow them ol' heart strings!

The quality of a person's life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor." VINCE LOMBARDI

This is simple..go with the profession you are most passionate about, how can you give 100 percent to a job that does not make you enthusiastic? If a money is a problem, get a second job, but stay with the latter. Just my thoughts. Good luck.

....and who doesn't love the poetic genius that is Vince Lombardi!

Welcome back, purpled_hazed! It's been awhile.

Hey Avalon,

Nice to see you on the board, and thanks for saying hello. Yeah, I think Vince was right about most anything he said....take care Avalon.
