The Official "I Changed My Name & Now Nobody Knows Who I Am Anymore" Thread

I always leave Coyote in my name somewhere, but some name changes have me thrown because I know I should know who they are (*cough* Tony *cough* Dennis), but I don't know if they are who I think they are.

Translations, please? Sort of a rosetta stone for deciphering names?

I am and forever shall be THE kittyinjammies. wink

Nine times out of ten, I have Fett or my real name in there, but you can always tell by my location.
If I had any other names, I don't remember them. For some reason, the name Leonard Shelby comes to mind. If I ever change my id, I will become Alan Smithee, noted director.

Post of the day wink

I need to photoshop a tortise shell kitten, in old-style red PJs, with a button-down bum-flap for the tail to stick out.

(You know, the tail? Cats have....nevermind....)
Can't we just see Kitty in an outfit like that?

Who else would put those two together but the "Lost Python"? wink

I always try and fit my name in there somewhere. My recent string of names is inspired by Warren Zevon songs, which I will change once a week until he passes, and then maybe longer...

I was a Baadmunkey once. Now, I just Dance With Chainsaws.

The one, and only, Verbal Kint.

I toyed with the idea of going back to an old nick-name of mine, but I think I'll just stay with cart00n, or, at least, with something that continues to feature cart00n in it. However, I'm pretty new around here anyway, so you might not even have noticed me...

I always keep the Buttercup part in name and occasionally add a couple of words to it.....
Always contains "Blofeld"

The displayed name + signature line will reference the film I've recently seen.
I always have Poxy or Pox somewhere in mine.
I did the name change thing for a while, but I got bored of it around the time the whole "Oooo! I'm going to put a Star Wars reference in my name/sig!" virus spread itself around. What a nasty little bastard that thing was.
Bullshit! You're named after Darth Biscuits.
I decided to change my nick after seeing what all came up from the Googlism thread when I searched Lucid. I am still anti lucid but not as much anymore.
Was Sojourner but from now on this is what I will be.

Banal and annoying!

Welcome cart00n!
From a fellow San Diegan.

I'll always be Gracie, but I may toy around with it a bit, depending upon my mood.

Although I'm slightly excused from that being that I've always had a Star Wars name/sig from day one.
I used to be smart, but now I'm just stupid.

You will always see an eyeball in my name.

A horrible, horrible eyeball. Staring. Lidless. Wreathed in flame. wink

Ok, spill the story of where the name came FROM. Even if it's "I got a card one day with a kitten in PJs, liked it, and used that."
Heh, you'd think it would be mysterious and exciting, huh? Wrong.

My daddy always called me kitty, even though my given name is Michelle. It stuck. My siblings hardly ever call me by my given name. I don't think my little sister even knew my name until she was around nine.

The jammies part is because for a span of a year, I worked from home, and the running joke was that every time someone talked to me on the computer, I was in jammies (pajamas).

There you have it. kittyinjammies.

...which is actually more interesting than the card story.

I am and always will be capteucalyptus. Named for a superhero I made up in college who was able to transform himself into a giant battle axe wielding koala.
The AntiLucid was my band name for about 3 years. It went through several variations over the course of time.
I really want to 86 this feature. Name changing is DICK.
If you do that will my name go back to my old, more horrid one?
NooooooOoooO!!

I'll be good I promise!
Do you not have the option to nix the name changing or are you not decided on it?

I think if you gave people a 2 week period to finalize their names, that would be cool...I've changed my name twice thus far and it's already getting old to me...

Back to flyers I go...

I would consult Agent 86 before using him for any such plans.

Don't, it's fun....I think it's cool to change names based on movies/things we like.

But hey, you're the boss....
I used to be Adam Warren. Ending the name change business can't hurt. Not being very creative with names, I feel like the guy who always wears different novelty ties when I fuck with my moniker.
Out of curiousity... how many "Adam"s do we have on CHUD? There seem to be tons of them.

He is quite right. I own the copyright to the number '86'. Thank you for the royalties. I also own the uppercase letter 'B'.
I would just go back to being Call7001 if this feature were changed. No biggie.
I'd go from "Cheese Biscuits" to "CheeseBiscuits".

...

Goddamnit, I just can't live with that shit.
Although I'm still hoping "Sir Pinch-a-loaf" takes advantage of this little feature soon.
<img src="http://www.fugaz.giga.com.ar/nooo.gif" alt="" />

I'm gonna transform back to the all lowercased nickname, voltes5. But, no biggie if you stopped it. I do think that it's a cool feature though.
Despite my all-out hatred for it (sorry pops), I'm sticking with my own name for the moment.
I don't like all of the name-changing either.

Unless you keep some aspect of your screenname intact, when you change it all the time it becomes tedious to try and figure out who everybody is.
I really don't like this fad. It's not funny, in fact most of the time it's embarassing. I gave my opinion on this before, <a href="http://chud.nexcess.net/board/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=6&t=000153" target="_blank">here</a>.

If you extend your name to something long, like say yaddle_the_unstoppable_sex_machine, it very often stretches out the margins of all the posts in the thread, and makes reading them more irritating. Everyone else has to suffer while you pat yourself on the back for being so smart and witty.

It'd be nice to kill off "Darth Algar", especially since I discovered that Wayne's World 2 really isn't that good a movie. I could just register a new and better username, but in doing so would lose any (if any) reputation/respect my name and opinions have gained on this board.

The only time I gave in to the name changing craze was when I saw Dog Soldiers. I changed my signature to "Dog Soldier, formerly Darth Algar".

And don't get me started on the ones who clog up threads with "picture posts"...

What's wrong with Charles? We thought it was good enough for our youngest son.

Makes ya sound like a judge
It's a cool name for everyone else, but me...

I'm just not a Charles.
Although I kinda like Charlie.
