The Official Voting Post

Here is the "official" list of names to vote on. You guys know the rules: One vote per person. Post your vote here.

BTW: I have eliminated all the names that the voices in my head told me to. I've also mixed them up a little, just because I could. The vote will be open until Midnight O'One of 07/05/2002, and I will be updating the number in front of the city name periodically, as more people vote. This way, this first post will be the running tally. And, since I'm playing judge, jury, and executioner here, I am going to not vote. It just wouldn't be fair.

The final 22 names are as follows, in no particular order:

7 - Lumiere
2 - Seward
0 - Boomstick
0 - Nunzwich
0 - Chudder Gorge
0 - Chewer's Grove
0 - Chud's Gap
0 - Chud Bluff
1 - Melies Point
0 - Chud Cove
0 - Bakersville
0 - Chudwich
0 - Roanoke
0 - Chewers Grove
0 - Fort Chuddleston
0 - Cape Hunter's Dock
0 - Valley of the Chud
0 - Wastewater
0 - Egout Peaks
2 - Chudsmouth
0 - Nick's Mesa
0 - Uchudant

Ok. Get to it, and watch here to see what the result is (although I probably already know how it will go, if the other set of posts was any indication).

Personally, I like the three that are getting the votes so far. Chudsmouth has a certain "At the Mouth of Madness" feel to it, and Seward or Lumiere sound like all the towns you drive through when going from big city A to big city B.

I've got a couple ideas of what can be done with the runners up, too, so keep voting. Hehehe.

What I don't like about Lumiere is that all I can think of is the candle from Beauty and the Beast.

The candle was a pretty cool dude though.

Lu·mière Pronunciation Key (l-myr, lü-), Auguste Marie Louis Nicolas. 1862-1954.

French chemist, inventor, and cinematography pioneer. With his brother Louis Jean Lumière (1864-1948) he gave the first public showing of a cinematic film (1895).

My man brought us the movies!

Nah, the teapot kicked his ass.

Lumiere obviously has a French derivation. Do we want the french in our town?

What is the derivation of Seward? Seems a coastal name ... am I high?

"What I don't like about Lumiere is that all I can think of is the candle from Beauty and the Beast."
But since he was played by rene Aberjoisoisoisois, this should be perfectly acceptable wink

I think Seward would be a great name for the river that runs through the town. Confuse the hell out of any tourists.

Anyone else wants to vote, you have about 36 hours left before I won't take any more votes.

Get crackin', you guys! *grin*
