Okay, so last night I had this fucking FREAKY dream (probally because I was reading "Mystic River" late) and was up to about four in the morning thinking about what a kick ass story it would make. Only thing is, it would be kind of long. So I would like to do it in parts. I'd like to set it in this town we're making up...is that all right? Since it's more than one part, I know the story will evolve as the town does, but I just wanted to check with you guys if a serialized type of story would be all right.

My opinion? Yes. But bear in mind I'm a lowly minion editor, not a head honcho editor.
Hastur was just subjected to Soderbergh's Schizopolis, and is too cross-eyed to read. She's gone to bed, and will probably respond to this tomorrow evening.

Go for it. The idea is to have a town that evolves because of the work that the writers do, and this is the sort of thing that would fit perfectly.

We will want to keep a certain amount of continuity and such, just because it's interesting to do. Hence the "bible" (the town repository of the stuff that happened here), the Continuity Editing (so the same guy doesn't get hit by a blizzard in the middle of july while being abducted by aliens while his car blows up with him in it on his way to get a pack of cigarettes - although that would be a hellacious comic, wouldn't it?), and my desire for a map (so the river doesn't run in a tiny circle around the only place anything happens).

On the other hand, this is a place where you can write about stuff, make stuff happen, and know that your imagination is guiding it. So go, go, go.

E-mail me the first installment when you get a chance, and I'll go from there. Who knows, you might give me some good ideas to push the Chud Stories section even further.
