Who inspires you to do what you do? Whether you want to act, direct, or be the coffee guy, who do you try to live up to?

Well I have noone I really want to live up to in the movie business but my hero growing up and to this day was/is Walter Payton. One of the most amazing people alive! Watching him deteriorate in health was horrible and when he passed on one morning as I was driving to work I had to pull over so I could choke back the tears.

Movie make up wise:
Dick Smith (One of the most wonderful and giving people on the planet. He was the pioneer of many modern techniques, an incredible artist, and is a good friend)

Rick Baker ( The quality of his work is an inspiration to all)

Steve Johnson (Best creepy designs)

For Directing:

Robert Wise (The Haunting holds the key to the style that I strive for)

John Carpenter (Halloween is inpirational in its guerilla style)

Alfred Hitchcock (I love his sense of humour in his films and am also influenced by his style)

Steven Spielberg (For his sense of wonder and magic in his earlier films. I also love the style of editing that he uses)

All these influence me stylisticly with my work, but only Dick Smith has influenced me as a person.

Quentin Tarantino because Reservoir Dogs was the first film I saw were I realized I could truly turn my loves of movies into a career.

Robert Rodriguez for El Mariachi which shows you can make a cool movie for a low budget and for his book Rebel Without A Crew.

Those two always inspire me and show me one day I will make it.

I am also inspired by the work of David Lean, Steven Spielberg, John Ford, Akira Kurosawa, John Woo, Michael Mann. Those are my role models and heros.

I'd love to have Terry Gilliam's career, but William Goldman is the person whose career I aspire to. Does that make sense?

the beatnik generation (not including ginsberg) inspires me to write and choose a less than glamourous lifestyle, living "up" to that isn't too hard a thing to do, james joyce inspires me to want to be a great writer, that mixed with a fantastic love for movies has recently gotten me into writing useless plays and moviescripts, good for levelling out crooked tables and chairs, or lighting up and starting larger more important fires with...
