Screenplay help please

I need help thinking of a name for the city which my screenplay takes place in. I am very picky on naming things and really so far have drawn a blank for the name of this city.It is the place which is going to be the center of all the events that lead to the end of the world. I want the name of this made up place to sound like it could exist.

For example one of my favorite authors writes books that take place in the imaginary city of Newford. That name to me when I first heard it sounded like an accual city that existed.

I picture the city to be somewhat like Chicago but really I want it to almost represent every city in the world.

Could some one give me some suggestions for the name?

Hmm...naming a city, huh?

Gaylesville?

Devon?

Mullford?

Brimsport?

Eh...what do I know.

I agree with Seth here,why do you need to name it at all?
I think that by leaving the name out of it people can make up their own minds.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I did at first not want the city to be named but I find it is easier to write with it having a name.

After some thought I decided to call it Lakeford for now. Though once I am finished with the screenplay I think that I will go through and edit it so the name is not mentioned.

What I really want to call the city is Stillwater but since there is already a place with that name in the real world I didn't.

The city As you might have guessed is on the edge of a huge fresh water lake and this lake plays a part in the plot.
