novel or screenplay

Thread Starter
writing has been a passion of mine my entire life. i love to write, and last night, i started again. i'm writing a book, that some day i would love to have turned into a movie. writing stories that become movies is my ultimate dream, but i'm not sure i'm going about it in the right way. should i write this story as a novel? or should i write it as a screenplay? i figured if i write it as a novel, i can make a screenplay out of it later, and in the meantime, i can ry to get the book published. any ideas?

Listen to Rath, this is the best advise you can get.
The only other thing i would add is write for yourself, not because you think u might get a film made or because it might sell a million copies.
Just write for you, if it then gets published or made into a movie then thats a bonus IMO.
But good luck to ya pal which ever road you take.
