Ok i've got a Grim Reaper character in a new comedy short im producing.
So casting wise im looking for a tall slim guy preferably bald.
But if i cant get bald or he wont shave his head, im gonna have to go the skull-cap route.
What i would like to know is whats the best way to make it look realistic?
Do i use liquid latex to blend in the edge of the cap?
Any tips would be much appreciated.

Interesingly enough I am also planning to do a student film comedy with one of the character being the grim reaper. So I am also interested in the makeup aspect of it. I've done quite a bit of searching online for a foamlatex appliance I could glue to the actor's face (who might very well be me) but at all of the online sites offering them they said they were out of stock. And I am afraid they won't bother restocking untill next september getting ready for halloween.

Here is the one I am particulary interested in but is sold out: <a href="http://www.mostlydead.com/en-us/p_119.html" target="_blank">Skull</a>

Thanks for the link, there was some useful stuff on there, even if what i wanted was sold out as well.
Hopefully our resident Effects guy Bill will be able to give us some tips.

The cap that I like best is called a glatzin cap. (Not sure of spelling). They are also called a chambers cap. What is nice is that you can disolve the edges of the cap with acetone. You then should use a pax paint over it or rubber mask grease paint. They are tricky to apply, so good luck!

Thanks Bill, much appreciated.
As an aside how's it going with Dumb and Dumber 2.?

I am done! Wahoo. It all came out pretty cool. I think that it will be a funny flick. I'm catching up on some church stuff right now and then plan to move on and work on my next short and also look for another job. I had a call to do a little bit of stuff on "Big Fish", but have not heard back. We shall see.

Nice one mate, hope all goes well for you. And if D&D2 is half as funny as the first one, i'll book me ticket now.
