Help - DVD Recorder

I just bought a DVD burner. It is a CenDyne Internal 4X DVD Recorder (-R/RW)

I bought it to author my own movies onto DVD but also wanted to use it to watch DVD extras and such.

Now, it plays some movies (such as Dangerous Lives of Alter Boys) just fine. But when I put in other movies (such as Terminator) it will not play video and the audio is really choppy.

Anyone know why this is and if there is something I can do about it?

What dvd software are you using to play movies?

I have tried InerActual Player and PCFriendly DVD

And, I tried Lord of the Ring extended edition and it locks up my PC every time.

Try using PowerDVD for dvd playback.

Also, what's your processor speed, operating system and amount of ram?

Have you tried a fresh install of your OS?

Damn, well, your system is definitely powerful enough for dvd playback.

Hmmm...

If PowerDVD doesn't work for you and a fresh install doesn't do it, or if you don't want to do a fresh install, then best bet will be to contact technical support for CenDyne.

I'll keep on "googling" for more information.

Have you installed all of the service packs for Windows 2000?

Power DVD worked perfect. Thank you very much. I guess the DVD software that came with the drive was not powerful enough. Thanks again.

I am going nuts trying to figure this out. Ok. I got the DVD Pro to play my DVDs just fine. Now I can't get anything to get the extra DVD-ROM stuff. Everytime I go in there it says please put the DVD into your computers DVD-ROM drive to see the extras. AND IT IS IN THERE!!!

What am I doing wrong?

Try <Ctrl-O> [Hold control then press letter "O"] to select source and make sure that the proper drive is selected.

Other than that, I don't see why you can't access the extra DVD-Rom stuff.
