My DVD player won't play tracks 9-12 from my LOTR mega dvd pack. Is anyone else have this problem or does my DVD player just not like me? How can i fix this situation? It play the rest of the movie fine. But around track 11 or 12 it starts the old freeze frame then skip ahead. When i try to from the menu to put on clips 9-12 it does it for all 4 of them.

What dvd-software are you using to play dvd movies?

I did hear a rumor that some of the LOTR 4 disk sets had some shitty presses. Have you tried the disk in another player?

I tried it in my computer and it worked fine. I have a RCA DVD player. It might just be my machine. I was just wondering what some more tech savvy minds (ie yall and not me) think because cursing at the machine and pleading with it and threatening it are just not working (i am thinking of calling some of my old Jesuit priests to come give it an exorcism).

High density disks have problems playing in some players. LOTR with all the commentary tracks, DTS ES and Dolby Digital EX tracks make it probably one of the hardest to play on some players. My friend had the same problem with LOTR EE. It works fine in mine but hers locks up. Price doesn't seem to be an issue as my other friend has a $49 APEX and it plays fine on that. My player has a slight problem playing Pitch Black but it works fine on every other disk I have. I guess the bottom line is that some players have trouble with some disks. I had a 98 Samsung model that froze and stuttered on almost every disk that was dual layered.

I'm having a rather similar problem with some early chapters on the Episode II DVD. Can't figure why I can play any page from any section other than "1" selectively.

And not surprisingly I have an RCA too.

Uh oh...

Last summer, my cousin and were watching Tigerland on his GE DVD player (which he's never had trouble with) and the movie was skipping BAD. We cleaned the disc several times to no avail. I took it home with me and tested it in the exact spots where it was messing up and it worked fine on my Panasonic DVD player.

I also ended up letting a friend from church borrow the DVD and he said nothing to me about it skipping or anything, so I guess it played fine on his player as well.

Some players just have trouble reading certain discs is all or like someone said above, it could be a shitty press.

Thanks for yall's advice. I figured it was just the player not able to read that disc for some reason. it had no problems with disc two though. It's just weird.

So what do yall advise? Should i go get another copy or what? Anyway, thanks everyone for helping me out.
