HELP- DVD-Rom problem!

Okay I'm back from spring break and popped in a dvd for a couple minutes in my computer's dvdrom, which hasnt been used in about a week (in case for some odd reason that might factor into it) and it seemed fine.
And tonight I popped in a dvd to watch a movie and I noticed clicking sounds coming from my speakers. And ONLY when I used the dvd-rom, it does the clicking when I'm watching the movie, staring the dvd up or looking at the menus. And it is pissing me off.
What the hell is causing this?

Okay that was weird, I restarted the computer and now its fine.
But any reason why it did that?

I don't know exactly what causes stuff like this to happen, but I have a question for you.

When you moved your mouse, did you hear the sound?

I have encountered this problem at work on various machines and usually a simple soft boot (reset) fixes the crazy sounds.

Yeah but also when I set it still. It sorta alternated back and forth.

Also today it did it again but with much LOUDER clicking. I resested the computer and now its fine again.

Yes, you did say "resested."

Check and make sure your speaker cables are properly plugged in. One time I had some speaker issues and it turned out to be a loose cord issue.

Also, if you are proficient with the inside of a PC, open it your box and make sure all the connections to the devices are secure. Loose connections inside can cause problems such as DISK BOOT FAILURE and whatnot. If you are not comfortable doing this, ask a friend. Everyone should know somebody who knows computers.

Also, right click "My Computer" and check and make sure that nothing is awry in your system properties.

That's all I can recommend without actually looking at the PC in person and you know that isn't possible.
