I just watched 45 episodes almost back to back to back to back...

I never missed an episode, but I understand how others could be turned off by it.

And this may sound cruel, but Guillaume should have been turfed from the show after his stroke.

Guys like Sorkin amaze me. They make it look so easy.

I think heroes of the show were its six principal cast members plus William H. Macy.

Loved the review Nick, and I'm glad you liked the show. I truly enjoyed it while it was on, and whenever I'm travelling on a regular basis sometimes I get lucky and they show an episode or two on the plane.

I'm going to buy this once I get the chance, not so much for the show (though I do think it's wonderful) but for something that will tide me over until West Wing finally comes to DVD.

While the six principals are great, I think the dialogue is a huge factor to what makes the show. While I'll agree that Sorkin can get pretty heavy-handed at times, he has a great ear for fast and witty dialogue as well as timing. I can't think of single episode of The West Wing that didn't have a good ending.

I just heavily disagree with Nick's stance on Sorkin. To me, you could put almost any actor in one of his shows and the writing would still carry the day (or half-hour, in this case).

Regarding Sorkin, I think he's too smart for his own good sometimes and he didn't find the right balance until the 2nd year of The West Wing.

Here, I honestly think his stars seriously bailed him out.

While I only caught a few eps of this I thought it was a good show. Great that your time was apparently well spent.
