Classic John Woo in "not as great as you thought it was" shocker!

Great work, Dan. Yet another movie I want to pick up...

Nice review. The Thundercats caption made me laugh out loud, not once but twice (first at the sheer absurdity of it, then again when I worked it out)

IMO the film still ROCKS though. Chow's gambling den massacre is one of my all time favorite movie scenes. I remember the first time I saw a clip of it on Jonathon Ross' Incredibly Strange Film Show back in the late 80s... my jaw was on the floor.

Thanks for saving me $25, Dan. I've been anxious to pick this up along with other HKLegends titles when I upgrade my Region Free player, but I think I'll stick with my R1 Anchor Bay disc.

And yes, I love this movie with all my heart and guts, even the music ripped from Alan Parker's Birdy notwithstanding.

My first fanboy script in high school was a prequel showing how Mark and Ho first met up, and includes the piss-drinking scenario that Mark mentions at the club. I just love their camradarie in this flick.

Does this version also misspell Al Pacino's name as Albert Gino in the subtitles?

love the movie... thought you were a big harsh in some areas, but you nailed the problem with the music dead on. horrible music... sucky music... makes me laugh and entertains, though.

Ho Tse Sung: Do you believe there's a God?

Mark: Yes, I'm one, you're one. A god is someone who controls his destiny.
