Good review, although it doesn't make me want to run out and see this film immediately. Of course, that's exactly what you were trying to convey. I may rent this at some point, but in the meantime, the screen caps were great.

I especially liked the Victor Von Doom one.

Fisher Stevens in a prison movie? Isn't that like a toothpick in a lumber mill?

Nice review. Prison films, at least the strictly generic ones, have never been a preferred genre for me. Shawshank, love. Green Mile, like a great deal. Others ... bleh.

I'll let Mikah check this one out.

Thanks. I really felt that'd go mostly forgotten... like ALL the oens I did for the Spidey cartoon.

Wasn't this in the theatre, like, a month ago?

Good review, but I think I'll check this out when it hits HBO. The captions were good, particularly the Doom-vision and Stevens-Douglas one. No Nation's Punched cap...good. That would have been too easy, which I do not think is your style.

I respect your opinion, Nick.

My favorite grouping of screencaps of any DVD review. I wanted to see this in the theater, but I'll definatly check it out this weekend.

Yeah, cool review. The Walter Hill/endangered species caption was a tad depressing, though.

The sunglasses one was my fave as well.

What, no Hollowman?

Well I checked this one out opening weekend and enjoyed it but it wasn't earth shattering. My friend who is a huge boxing fan dug it alot though. Nice review nick and your take on the film was how I saw it. Couldn't agree more on Walter Hill just a great director.

Undisputed versus Champion.

Battle of the US and Korea.

I'd like to see how one holds up to another.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Did I hurt your feelings? Fuck you!"

Probably my favorite line of any recent movie (that I remembered a line at all tells me that).

Yeah, some of this movie is far fetched. But Undisputed is actually based on a real life event involving Mike Tyson's stint in prison.

Apparently, a movie about Tyson's days in prison was going to be made, but I hear it just kinda decided to go its own way without the direct Tyson stuff instead. Maybe truth was stranger than fiction and the filmmakers didn't think audiences would buy the "far fetched" stuff. Or maybe they were too reigned in too much by reality. Point being, I have no point.

"Keep them on, just in case the sun gets busted and gets sent on up in here."

I know it's already received love, but I just wanted to underscore what a great cap this is. The Fisher Stevens/Michael Douglass cap also is a work of art.

Thanks, Nick. This one is hovering around 10 on my Netflix queue.

I saw this in the theatre. It was pretty decent, but then, Wes Studi is the man.

And the monologue by Peter Falk is great.

Fisher Stevens cap owns. Great review that makes me want to check out the film sometime. Didn't know it was this decent since it only spent a little bit of time in the theaters.....

Great review and screencaps Nick. I didn't like the movie to much. It felt rushed in my opinion. The only real reason to see this movie is for Rhames and Snipes nothing more.

Walter Hill delivered as he usually does and the 20 minute fight scene was great. All the caps were great but I greatly enjoyed the Michael Rooker one.

The holiday finally allowed me to catch up on my DVD viewing. This was such a fun movie watching experience. It was lean and mean, like Snipes' character. It had all the trappings of the really good B movies: mostly stock characters nevertheless played to the hilt by the actors, and a plot the moves the viewer along with intensity. I wish the whole mafia-money angle would have been downplayed more, as the story worked best as a battle between the rich but disgraced boxer and the lifer with nothing to lose but the immense respect of his fellow inmates.
I've loved most of Walter Hill's movies. I still think Extreme Prejudice was unjustly overlooked. It stands as a great homage to the Wild Bunch while offering a few original thrills to boot. It's a pity that such a professional works so sparingly.
I urge all of the Chewers to check it out for a fun view. It might not be art, but it's a hell of a lot more entertaining than much of what comes down the pipe.
