I've heard that the reason for the omission of the commentaries was that Warners wouldn't let the Contact jokes slide, in fear of offending Jodie Foster.

Anyone wanna back up this theory?

Stoopid WB...

Great review Micah. The episodes on this set were still funny but I was dissapointed with this set as well. It could have been much better. The commentaries should have been on this dvd set.

The Uncle Jimbo "It's comming right for us!" quote kills me every time I hear it.

The entrance to Franchise Pictures is well-guarded to all except for bad ideas, which are free to come and go as they please.

Ah, the ubitiquos Franchise Pictures rip. Gotta love it.

Great review/execution Micah.

One question though:

Why after calling Warners "fuckheads" did you fall back and say that they merely "pee"d on it?

Were you momentarily stuck in reload mode?

Micah's review does pretty much hit the nail on the head. Why would Warner Bros. fear retribution from Jodie Foster over comments made by Parker and Stone? If that was the reason for not including the commentary, then I am baffled.

But that said, I figure people are gonna get this set if they dig the show. Hopefully they'll read a review like Micah's and be aware that a commentary track is available.

Thanks for the feedback, all.

I'm just beyond pissed at this release and just had to unleash the poison in the review.

And I'm still upset about it. Next thing you know, they'll put the commentary tracks on CD, the picture galleries on Viewmaster, and the subtitles will arrive on numbered index cards.

In fact, they may just do away with moving DVD altogether and release movies as photo books you have to pageflip really fast to watch.

That way if ANYBODY can possibly be offended by ANYTHING Warners does with a DVD release, they can absolve themselves of all responsibility for it.
