I saw this DVD at a local Best Buy and wondered if it was worth purchasing. The package contained a DVD, CD, and book of original art.

as well...if it's worth anything...which probably isn't.

Stay the hell away from the National Geographic Beyond the Movie: The Lord of the Rings...

It's not bad, but not worth a purchase. Try renting it from netflix instead...or the local library.

Hmm. Well, I disagree with that. If you're talking about the same "bonus" disc that came with the Argonath bookend set, I found it to be an elightening and interesting exploration of Lord of the Rings connection to the broader and real world.

it just seemed light.

Really light in terms of content. With National Geographic, I was hoping for something bigger...like the extra 2 discs that were given to the Extended cut of FOTR.

I was kind of expecting something grand...like Christopher & JRR Tolkiens 'The History of the Lord of the Rings' book set.

Were there any Return of the King spoilers in it?

Not that I recall.
