SEPTEMBER SOCIAL SCENE, brand new from Darker

So there I was doing final mixes...then I stopped to browse a sidewalk sale at a local msuic store. I found an axe I liked for cheap, picked it up, and as soon as I start strumming on it, a new song comes up out of nowhere. Don't want to say too much else about it, but it's unlike most anything else I've done.

Anyway, the final mixing and mastering will continue, and I hope to have the new album available for sale before Thanksgiving.

I present to you, September Social Scene.

You are correct in that this is different from some of the other songs you've put out and I have to give you lots of praise for the wonderful lyrics.

"Back home she begs for God to end it all today
Can’t remember the last time she woke to find a peaceful day
Mom and Dad love her but it’s not enough for her to stay
It’s not a matter of who’s right and who is wrong
When you reach to touch her heart she is already gone"

Good stuff Mikah and thank you for sharing....

Thank you so much, Buttercup. I really appreciate the attention you've given my music lately.

I just hope the other 10-12 people who clicked on this thread are enjoying the song too.

Micah - you have me intrigued. I have no idea what kind of sound one could get out of a chopping tool, but shit, if Jackal can do it...

Anyway, links isn't work for me. What the #$@!!!!. Will report back when it starts working.

Fool!

It's spelled JACKYL.

Never besmirch them again with your poor spelling.

Indeed, AMPCAST is having a server problem right now. Just try back in 30-60 minutes, and all should be well.

Shite! I knew I had it wrong. I even tried to use google for the correct spelling. Anyway, downloaded it and liked it quite a bit. No lie - I got a Hotel California vibe from part of the song. You may be in disbelief, but I'll point out the part next time I see you. Then, we'll contact Don Henley together to ask/beg for permission.

First off...thanks for the listen.

Funny you should mention "Hotel California," tho....there's a PKG song, SUPERCONDUCTOR SLEEPS, that ends a LOT like it. I came up with the chords off the top of my head, and didn't even realize they invert the chord progression of HC until long after it was recorded.

But thanks again for the listen to this song.

Every other song you write sounds like "Smuggler's Blues", so this is a nice change...

I'm actually going to make another comparison about "The Flame and the Skies", so gear up for that. Hope you don't find it annoying - the comparisons, but that's one thing I enjoy about your work - it's real tough to nail down. There's a lot of influences swimming aroung - because you're tastes are really diverse, but it really makes for great listening. Heard a little bit of your work for Sweeney's flick last night, by the way. Really nice stuff.

No, I love the comparisons. I'm flattered by any of them. Hell, tell me it sounds like a combo of Warrant and Murray Head...I won't complain. I love to see people taking things from my music, I don't hear or see. That's half the fun.

I'm glad you liked the Sweeney music. I have more goodness on the way for him. I really want to make his flick something special, music-wise.

You are most welcome Mikah and again thank you for sharing such wonderful music. I also enjoy the stories behind the music (like the story about how September Social Scene came about)

I am honored just to have an opportunity of interacting and enjoying the work of artists like yourself at CHUD.....

Good song, Micah. The song is a bit different. Pretty depressing. Moody. I like moody. Lyrics are damn good. Looking forward to the new cd soon.
