The Good, The Bad, and The Chutney: Guns, Cars, and Sitars. Have any of you heard this album? Holy shit, this is like a soundtrack to a non-existant Tarantino 70s throwback movie, but with a few more modern beats. I don't know the story behind it, but it seems like they took beats and hooks from 1970s Indian action/gangster movies and turned them into a cool ass concept album. Incredible stuff. Basically, if you thought the soundtrack to Kill Bill was cool, you must get this album.

By the way, Dan the Automator is the same guy behind the Gorillaz and all sorts of cool and unusual albums.

Dan Nakamura is the man. I think that this album is a few years old, though. Not that that matters.

Do you have an actual copy of the album? I have heard of it before (from my days on the DJ Shadow mailing list), but I can't remember if it was supposed to have gotten an actual release...

I think this was something of a sequel to Dan's "Bombay The Hard Way - Guns, Cars & Sitars " album, which also involved DJ Shadow to some extent. BTHW was something of an in-joke on the list because there was always some new guy asking if it was a real movie soundtrack (it's not).

I think I have mp3s of Bombay somewhere, but I'd like to hear both of them sometime.

No, don't have the album. Someone just told me to give it a listen and I did.. Awesome. I had no idea there were two albums.

It would make sense though, as there seem to be waaay to many tracks out there that are related to that title.
