anyone see this? been reading a bit about it lately. sounds quite creepy. is it worth checking out?

Yeah, I've got it on DVD. When I got a region free DVD player I bought three things right away...Ghostwatch, The Stone Tape, and the R2 They Live (hey, JC and Rowdy Roddy commentary!)

It's a pretty cool little movie, made for the BBC for Christmas and written by Nigel Kneale. I'm a huge Kneale fan and that's the main reason I got it. I had heard great things and it didn't neccesarily live up to what I was expecting (everything can't be Ghostwatch) but I still dug it. It's very well acted (and written...the script is very strong and keeps you involved) and has a very unique angle on the whole parapsychology angle. The concept is very cool and it's a new spin on "ghosts" and their reasons for being and what the story evolves into is also a very cool concept.

If you're a Quatermass and Kneale fan you should definately check it out.

Now I just have to get around to watching the VHS copy of Kneale's "The Woman in Black" that I got. Heard that's ultra creepy as well.

I've been wanting this one, but haven't gotten around to nabbing it just yet. I have "The Woman in Black" on DVD and absolutely love it.

Saw this on BBC4 a few weeks back, great little film, the premise might work as an updated modernised version, i think Kneale is still alive so perhaps he could update the scripts..... The repeats on BBC4 were shown after a Documentry on the work of Kneale which was interesting, the big shame being that other examples of his work from the 1960's has been deleted/lost.

I have been holding off on the Stone Tape for a few months now. Just sounded a little too dry for me. I have Ghost watch and it rocks as well as I have A Warning ot the Curious from ther BBC Christmas series as well and that was ok...

Might have to place an order.

And what is The Woman in Black? We have a ghost legend here in Boston about an island in Boston Harbor that has a fort haunted by a woman in Black waiting for her husband to return from the war...

Details would be appreciated...

The Woman in Black. It's a great little ghost story. I highly recommend it.

I am more than thankful for the package. And it was enough that you went through the effort to do that for me...Nevermind if I have to wait a few days for it.

I am looking forward to checking it out and I will def let you know what I think of it. As well as I am going to go on the boards recommendation on tracking down the Lady in Black. Ghost stories are my favorite.
