Paging Peter Benchley!

Incidentally, what's this shit dissing Piranha 2? That was a classy, classy motion picture. I've got the DVD and the score... it's the greatest film about flying piranhas ever made. James Cameron agrees.

The USS Jimmy Carter? A mad world-endangering researcher named Dr. Chomsky?

Somebody's been listening to NPR on his way to screenwriting workshop.

Good job on the review - though I have to disagree about The Abyss.

Ditto. THE ABYSS is fantastic and Cameron's third best flick.

Like I said, I'm not a fan of the movie but I understand that a lot of other people absolutely love it. I've never been a fan of BLADE RUNNER either but I acknowledge it's place as a science fiction classic. We all have movies that we just don't care for that the majority of other people consider masterpieces. Still, I'd rather sit through a six-hour extended cut of THE ABYSS then ever have to sit through DEEP SHOCK again. Man, talk about blatantly deceptive marketing.

Hey, you don't have to tell me. I own a copy of the uncut European import version!

"Uncut European import version?"

Hello? What's this? Is the US version cut?

I'm in the UK and was never aware of any longer version... it's not the most gruesome flick in the world so I'm wondering what could possibly be missing...

I did suspect, though, that the film was ever-so-slightly different in it's "Flying Killers" and "The Spawning" incarnations... but that might be because I hadn't seen The Spawning for a while when I watched Flying Killers...

So now I'm confused.

Anyway, I'll defend this flick until the day I die. Genius. Not to follow a trend or anything, but I wanna remake it.

Another great review, Scott. Still waiting on your take on House of the Dead.

BTW - did you get the PM I sent last week regarding Schlocktoberfest T-Shirts?
