Too bad it will only be in non-Quicktime until Monday ...

Personally, I dug the hell out of the trailer description. I haven't read any of the comics and I don't want to start now so that I can go into the film without knowing too much about the story. But all the talk about Lovecraftian beasties got me hyped in a major way. I already knew about Sammael and have drooled over the pre-production artwork for hours but a 4-story high monster called Behemoth?! Holy crap! And Old Gods sealed away in crystals floating in space (artwork for this can be found on the official HELLBOY site) ... Awesome! Just awesome!
And if HELLBOY has a huge opening you can bet that Dreamworks will finally greenlight MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS, which is currently undergoing rewrites. Which sould be completed around the time HELLBOY opens. Could be conincidence but I doubt it. Del Toro has pulled that trick before. He had a huge opening with BLADE 2 and then offered HELLBOY to Revolution Studios who would've probably turned him down before his success but now had grown very interested.
At them moment Dreamworks is probably nervous about greenlighting a big budget H.P. Lovecraft adaptation because it's so new and original. Let's face it, Carpenter's THE THING (which had some Lovecraftian elements) was long, long ago and DAGON went straight to video. Lovecraft is not exactly "hip". But if HELLBOY with all those elements becomes a blockbuster GdT should have a powerful argument in convincing Dreamworks and getting this flick off the ground. Of all the potential projects he has lined up AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS is the one I want to see the most.
