Woman in Black

The Woman in Black was recommended on another post. Amazon has it used for $88.95 and more than $120 for new. Does anyone know the deal with this? Recommendations for sites to buy horror from would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It's one of many out of print cult(ish) horror DVDs that regularly sell for 60-70+ bucks on eBay and the like.

See also Mario Bava's Rabid Dogs, the Lady in White, The Night Stalker/Night Strangler double.

I will be putting up a listing for DVD-R copies of The Woman in Black on eBay tomorrow sometime for $20 each (fixed price listing instead of auction) + $5.00 shipping (priority mail with delivery confirmation) if you are interested. If you want to nab one, provided of course that it doesn't get pulled by eBay right away (I doubt it, I see plenty of listings for overpriced VHS copies that are left up), my seller ID is addix101. If you pay by PayPal and let me know that it's you in the "message" box, I'll give you half off shipping for being a Chud member (I know it's just a couple of bucks, but it's something right? ).

The DVD-R is no frills (a DVD-R with "The Woman in Black" written in my shitty hand on it in a jewel case for protection), but it's better than paying $70+ for the same quality. The test burns I've done have all come out with the same exact picture and sound quality as the original. If you are more interested in seeing the movie than with having a pretty box, it's a great deal. It'll be a direct burn from my immaculate (only viewed twice) official Region 1 release DVD. Heh...stunning extras and all!! (I jest...you will get all of the "extras", but that consists entirely of screen selection and interactive menus. YAY!! ).

If you don't want to buy one from me, that's perfectly fine. I just wanted to let you know that the option was available. It wasn't just shameless self promotion...I swear!

Edit: Before someone mentions it or thinks I'm trying to pull a fast one on the guy, yes I was giving away copies in that other topic, but I've had to cap that off (heh...a half a spindle of DVD-Rs later). I'm not exactly rich ya know.

Edit: meh, I took the listing down for a bit. I need to try to come up with a way to word it so that it's clear that it's a copy, without triggering eBay's keywords.

Err...sorry about the triple post, but I've already edited my last post about a billion times (slight exaggeration) with "updates" and I thought it was about time to give the poor thing a break.

Anyways, I decided to put it on Yahoo! Auctions instead (god DAMN their listing charges are so much better than eBay's). Here's a link:

Got mine yesterday...Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Threw it in to check it out and it looks great.
Looking forward to watching it this week...Something to do on Thanksgiving after the familytime is over.

Good luck with the auctions...

And not to sound cliche'...But the check is in the mail...

Thanks again...

too late

Addix

Thanks a lot for the offer but unfortunately I had already won an auction on e-bay for a VHS tape. Wish that I had waited because I would much rather have had a DVD. Thanks again!

The play is awesome. Some say it's even better than the filmed version. I'm on the fence myself...

And not sure if they still do it, but it used to be that a REAL Woman in Black would walk up to random people on the back row and touch them on the shoulder during the performance.

Wicked, wicked people those producers.
